I guess they are already shipping as I got my hands on a Prism last week at BP, and they have cases of them on the floor at the TFO warehouse. Cork drag. Nice finish. Smooth. Affordable, but I think they start at 119., and come in 4/5. 5/6 and 7/8.shannon

Wow! I saw one of the new Prism reels today. I am very impressed. The Prism my daughter has is a different reel model, and this new Prism model is a really nice reel. It has a large arbor, is very light, has a cork drag, and costs less than $100. This reel is worth taking a look at.

That looks like one of the Prism reels that TFO offers, but it is not the reel that we're talking about. TFO has been carrying a couple of Prism reels for a while. But this new reel model has just been introduced.

Mike, above are photos of TFOs new Prism fly reel.
IMO, this high quality cork drag reel for $100, complete with a TFO Mini-Mag fly rod @ $200 is an unbeatable deal.
Im not all that familiar with other manufactures new 8ft bass rods, but their rod only prices are $300 bucks+?

Cliff, I have no other info than previously posted, but can review some of the conversation I had with Rick Pope regarding the new Prism fly reels. I understand the prototype created quite a stir at the fly fishing Dealer show in Denver the past summer, and the production models arrived a few weeks ago and should be on the dealers shelves by now, but dont know for sure. I asked specifically about salt water usage and Rick said that since it has a cast aluminum body that he world recommend for light saltwater usage, but for heavy saltwater usage, he would recommend the Prism machined large arbor reel that would handle more rough treatment, and is priced about $50 bucks more. That combined with the Mini-Mag rod is still competitive with other manufactures of new 8ft bass rod only. I believe the guts of the reels are the same but not sure. Call Rick he says we all play center field around here. George
