My mother passed away this morning at 8:55 a.m. and won her victory over cancer. We plan to have a memorial service at the Lake Fork Baptist Church on Sunday, October 26 at 2:00 p.m. and invite you all to come.

We appreciate your continued prayers and support during this very sad time. My mother was a life force all her own, and her passing has left a deep hole in all our lives. She will be missed beyond words.

Shelly: I thinks it's incredibly brave and strong of you to post about what you guys are going through. It came straight from the heart and anyone who reads your postings can feel it. Being a caregiver is very hard work - physically, emotionally, spiritually. I never knew your Mother, but from what I have read, I very much get the impression she was a go getter and didn't mess around with getting something done - all the way to the end.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and all family and friends.

I offer my condolences to you and your family. I did not know Sherry either, but from the threads on here, she was a very well liked and respected individual. She is in a lot better place than we are, even though she will be greatly missed by a whole lot of people. Sounds like she had an impact on a lot of peoples lives....

Very sorry to hear. Her new birthday started 10/17/08. A new and amazing life has started, no pain, no problems. She made an impact here for many. Spread her memories. Prayers sent.

Shelly, many of us have known your mother through the years, and through those years I never heard one single dissenting comment about her! Not even slightly or even an innuendo! She was loved by all who met her and had the opportunity to work or fish with her. Those two categories alone span too many persons to count, I am sure that number increases dramatically when you consider her loving family and devoted friends.
We will all miss her, but I am happy for her now that she will no longer suffer the pain associated with the cancer. I know the good Lord will provide her with all that she found pleasure in, especially big old bass!

I will not be able to make the service, but if I still lived in Texas you would not be able to keep me away from it! I sincerely hope that you post your Eulogy of your great mother for all of us to enjoy that cannot be there to hear it in person! That will certainly be a service to remember!

i lost my grandpa to pancreatic cancer a year ago on Nov. 2nd. Im glad to hear she is in a better place, It REALLY does make it a whole lot easier.


On a alot lighter note, do people bring their bass boats to church (Lake Fork Baptist) so they can launch right after service, Ive wanted to ask that question forever, excuse me if its not appropriate.

I hope the services went well, and I am sure there was standing room only.

I regret I was not able to make it there today, but it is an 8 hour round trip, and my schedule today would not permit it.

Again, my sincere condolences to You, Bill, and the resy of your family.. May God be with you, & Bill during the following months, to help heal the heartache ya'll have endured.
