Looks to me like your staying within the parameters and limits set by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept so great job, get a bigger bucket another knife and a bigger icechest and fish on my brother. 4 guys with 86 catfish...looks like they got shorted by 14...just kidding. I've cleaned several limits of cats, crappie, and sandbass from one outing. Not my thing now but if it's yours, you should have the right to clean all you want.

Texas Parks and Wildlife say the catfish is the most under utilized resource in public waters and recommends keeping the liberal limits established.

Ask these two questions:

1) Are the fish within legal limits?
2) Will the fish be eaten before it goes bad in the freezer?

If the answer is yes to both of these, then no problem @ all. If no, then I don't care if it's one fish...it's overkill.

No fish is too good for the grease.

sureshot is great stuff, but my question is... why don't I ever catch that many fish on punch bait?

Why do people need to start in on this guy for keeping a legal limit of catfish? My math tells me he had enough anglers to support the total number. When was the last time some guys were harassed for keeping 25 crappie each, or 25 sand bass? Sure they can't eat them all themselves at one sitting, but very legal. This is due to careful monitoring by the TPWD of the effects on fish populations due to regulation and fishing pressure. I just to see a fisherman get harrassed when they didn't do anything wrong - morally or legally. Now he'll probably be hesitant to post on here again a good catch of catfish.

And as stated above, I seem to remember reading that catfish are underfished if anything. There for a while, they were considering allowing bowfishing of catfish. Not sure about you, but that puts them in the carp category for population. When the govt starts letting you shoot them with arrows, I guess there is probably enough to go around.

Take a kid fishing!

For those of you who are questioning these folks, ever heard of a fish fry?

Easy, easy!!! I never said he was wrong for keeping them! I just said that I would not have kept so many! I said that I hate cleaning fish. Thats why I only keep fish over 2 lbs. I like big filets that I can throw on the grill if I want. Theres nothing wrong with keeping a legal limit of fish. I just don't like to clean them.
