Well, Varner and I along with buddies Crit and Craig hit Texoma on Saturday. Overall we did well, but that's not what this post is about. We ran across a school of sandies & stripers, close to the shore in about 4' to 6' of water. Remember the depth because it will play an important role in a minute. So, there we are catching fish on top waters, with several other boats and more moving in. Soon after, I heared a guy yelling out "watch my line". I turned to look at what was going on and to my surprise and shock, there was a boat trolling in and around all of the other boats eeks Ya know, it's not that someone trolling through schooling fish surprised me, it's the fact that we were in 4' to 6' of water!!??? What made it more surprising, is the guy was a guide with customers and he was telling other boats to watch out for his lines bang It's absolutely amazing how inconsiderate this guy was being.

All I know is that I can't wait for winter to set in and the lake to be absent of knuckleheads like this.....or will it huh

People like that sure make it hard for me not to cast over their lines intentionally.

Welcome to Texoma!! I fly fish during my personal time for Stripers. Boats come so close to me that I have to watch my back cast. One guide came so close that I stopped my Clouser 2 ft. from his customers face and not on my back cast. My best cast is usually 40 to 60 ft., so I would say they are a little close. Sorry about the rant. Just returned from another guides funeral and I had a few too many.

JV hold on I complained about trollers and inconsiderate boaters last week and I was told it was not may lake and to keep quite or I might get shot if I did not chill out.

Sorry you had to experience that.

Someone threatening to shoot another person because they are shedding light on an issue is more idiotic than someone trolling in 4' of water. But than again, what do i know, I can't even catch fish, unless you count gasper goo's frown

If a boat does something stupid and it might be because he didn't know any better....give em the benefit of the doubt and go on about your business.
If a boat (guide or not) any boat, does what you described, then they lose their right to anonymity. Post their boat number and their name if they advertise on the side of their boat.
A picture or video would be even better.

Do not however lump all guides in the same category.
I don't do that ever time I get treated badly on the water by a Non-guide.

90% of the guides I know go waaaaay out of their way not to inconvenience other boats. Too bad nobody posts how nice they were treated by a guide. I promise it happens more than the bad things.

Post accurately what happened and their name or post nothing at all.
Keep it fair.

Was the guy who was yelling at the guide standing on a 21 foot skeeter bass boat? And was the guide in a white center console with a blue stripe? I dont have the patience with stupid boaters to fish for striper this time of year. I try to never fish the boat shows because there is allways someone being stupid out there. I really enjoy fishing for striper in the winter when no one else is out there but I think I will stick to my bass fishing where you dont twenty boat move in on top of you everytime you catch one.
