I picked up two overload classes so I had to drop my outboard class. The wife and kids were going to a Mother and kids school function so I had to Lake Lewisville.

The wind shifted and was blowing from the Northeast and it was white capping a bit but I made it out to some deep-water humps w/o getting wet.

1st steep hump 40-29 feet in 5- 10 yards and the is no more than 20x20 in size yielded 2 hybrids one right at 19 and a 22 inch one. A few seconds later my screen went black and the sand bass moved in and I moved to the other the other produced one good hybrid that I lost as I tried to lip and it stuck the hook on the top of my hand but not all the way through.

So I moved to a long ridge hump about 10 yards long and 15-20 feet wide and I was not able to get the slab down past the sand bass, all of them were big but I wanted some hybrids so what I did was cast out and work the bait back on the bottom and picked up three more hybrids and an eye-ball yes another eyeball but no fish afterwards.

For SandJohnny and Hal Dodd...

The action slowed and I moved to the west side in the area of the Lake Dallas spillway to work a few humps and I encountered a very friendly and pleasant couple trolling picking up many sand bass. I drifted and picked up 12-15 sand bass and then moved to a long ridge back up with some submerged timber and picked up one doozy of a hybrid and a decent black bass.

As the evening drew to an end I moved over to the flats area in the middle of the lake and almost immediately caught two nice hybrids and in a few seconds the circus began... Luckily the birds began to hit the surface and the folks left to follow them. I followed the school with TFF'er MarkC , really nice guy and nice boat too, and we fished close together he picked up two hybrids and I managed 3 and lost one because I did not grip it well. The action died out at 7:15 and I came home.

Folks if you want sandbass now is the time the area between Lake Dallas cut and Twin Poles is swarming with them and you will get an occasional hybrid mixed in the bunch. The fish are all over the water column and in depths form 2-30 feet on the wind blown shoreline, long points, and humps... The hybrids are a bit tougher and are really skittish but patience will overcome a hybrids desire to eat. when your graph blacks out it is not broken they are sand bass.

I released all the fish and found that switching to 1/0 trebs kept the deep hooked ones today to nil. They were not pigs like the ones yesterday, but I was glad they allowed me to catch them. I caught 11 or maybe 12 but two were small 17-19 inches. A slow day compared to yesterday but still a good day.

Take care guys...
