We are considering getting a boat to catch whites (added that to post in this forum.. ha)... and was wondering what folks have/added/improved that they really liked about their boat.

like...2nd live well, shad live well, full windshield..etc..

Not normal stuff.. like 'big motor'.. but stuff that really make a difference in how you enjoyed the boat.

I am considering, down the road, getting one of those pontoon boats with a fridge and sink and umbrella and nice chairs..etc..

Any neat features you folks really like about your boats?

My deep V with full windshields really keeps me warm and dry on those windy days on Texoma and LL.

When looking at a boat check out the storage area - always seems like there is never enough room for everything. My rod boxes store the net, life jackets, spare TM prop, lights, tools and other stuff. There is no way I can fit my rods in there.

Good rod holders - I use RAM and love them.
GPS - amazing how easy they are to use.
Electronics - I need to upgrade mine - go with color.

I have a 1995 Procraft and it is a great boat but my next boat will be a center console - just easier to move around.

Well it has been said by a number of people on this post but I'll add my 2 cents. I have a small center console that is plenty big enough for me I just wished it had a deeper V. Mine was made for fishing in the flats on the coast in 6 inches of water which doesn't translate well to Lewisville in 20mph winds. Think long and hard about how many people you normally fish with. There is no need for a 24 ft boat when it is just you and 1 other person. Get as big of a trolling motor as you can. I have an 80lb on mine and there are times I wished it was bigger. Electronics--2 fishfinders are almost a must(one with GPS) If you are going to get an aluminum boat look at the Tundra made by Tracker. It is aluminum but the hull design is like that of a fiberglass. It's what I see alot of the guys that fish REALLY rough waters in the great lakes use on TV.
