Alright yall, it is almost time for the big blues!!! Steve and I start our quest for the big cats every year on September 1. This year seems to be starting off nice. We started on Sept.2 with a 42lb blue and on Sept.6 with this fat 58lb blue. Shouldn't be long now before they are just jumping into the boat!!  42lb  58lb

I want to dry drifting for blue cats on Medina Lake...ive caught little ones on punch bait, figure there's gotta be some big ones making those little ones. never tried it before, should be fun!

YES,CUT GIZZARD SHAD (LARGE).CHECK THE LAKE STOCKING REPORT FOR CATFISH, IF ITS 20 YEARS OR MORE I WOULD SAY THERE SHOULD BE SOME LARGE CATS THERE...

stocking report says Medina Lake was stocked twice with blue cats, in 1974 and 1975...since im catching little ones, I guess they are descendents of those originals...grandma and grandpa blue are probably pretty big by now!
