I have 4WD Dodge 06 Mega Cab. Every once in a while I have to use it. It sure is nice when I have to have it.

It is for me. Diesels are so heavy in the front and light in the back, that unless you intend to keep lots of weight in the bed, it's as close to a must as I've seen.

I wouldn't buy a 2 wheel drive truck. There will always be more times than one that you will wish you had 4 wheel drive.

we have never had ti use 4x4 on the ramp at the lake. but when we were runnin the river last year it was nice to have 4x4 when the rear tires started spinning on the boat ramp cause there was mud and silt 6" deep on the ramp. now we only have a 15' aluminum boat so it is not very heavy. but it is nice to have 4x4 when ya need it.

Well guys, I bought a 2wd yesterday....hope I don't regret it. I'm planning on getting a slide-in-camper, so that should give it some weight on the rear tires. It was such a good deal on the truck that it was hard to refuse.

I seriously had a nightmare last night though....i was dreaming that i was stuck in the mud with my new truck!!! Man I hope I didn't make a mistake by buying it!!

Only way your gonna get stuck in the mud on a good boat ramp is back out past it. I have a 2wd and not a prob. Mine is gas so I dont have the ten million tons of torque a diesel does either. Even on slick ramps i just easy into it. No wieght added to the rear.

Boatless for minute

if you want too you can smoke the tires with the diesel coming out the ramp.

if you dont think that this can be done meet me at the boat ramp and bring a $100.00 i will even do it with my boat hooked up.
