Stopping and rendering aid is only required if you have caused or been involved in the accident. ( one of the charges you get if you leave the scene of an accident that involves injury is failure to stop and render aid, and in some cases is a felony) This applies to the hiway. Boating laws state you must stop and give aid.

1. More than likely you are team fishing - haul azz to help the family and have your buddy call 911 and the TD. The boat is on fire and anyone would be able to look over and see the smoke.
2. The TD should follow up with another 911 call and get additional assistance out there as quickly as possible.

Questions like this are one of the reasons I do not fish tournaments anymore. You are taking a pleasurable pastime and turning it into a competition. And I don't play with my food.
