Went fishing yesterday on Lewisville. Started crappie fishing around 10:00am and within 1-1/2hrs I had 5 solid crappie. Then I hooked up with another crappie. I went to put him in the livewell (left it open because the fish were biting) and something didn't look right. I saw a checkered pattern in the water. I quickly took a giant leap backwards. I slowly eased back up to the livewell and sure enough a 4 or 5ft snake had climbed over the side of the boat and made its way to the live well. It took well over an hour for me to get him to go on his way. It shook me up enough that I decided to pass on getting out there today.

Hey Rodney,
That was Bill Carr (HOOK-EM) and I that you asked about the pellet gun. We figured you must have gotten the snake out when we saw you come back out there. Glad to hear it.

Cellis, when I got over to the Little Elm ramp I opened the livewill again. He laid there and posed for everybody for about 15min then he took out and went over the side of the boat.

That was lucky for you. One day I had to grab one that was trying to get in my boat. About scared the mess out of me. Since a fella might be able to get away with that once in a lifetime, I figured I used my chance up already so I couldn't help you.

Were there are snakes theyre are crappie! i have found this to be so especially during the wading part of spring spawn. But even then as much as i love to leave fishing from the boat or bank i still sweat like a dog passing peach seeds!

Once again, I'd rather have rats, mice and insects over snakes any day. That isn't funny and would have been a death penalty for Mr. snake

I agree with Jerry give me the rodents over snakes any day. I would have messed my pants and swam to shore if I opened my livewell and had a 4 ft. snake in it.
Yes I did admit defeat. Good job back to back champion

carry a stick or a pellet/bb gun and put that snake out of his misery. Usually I don't mess with them. But when they cross the "No Fly Zone", they have violated my Geneva Convention!!!

Yep it was a good sized snake I was a Little Elm while crappie kid was trying to get it to leave his boat told him if it was me the snake could have the boat. But the snake was nice enough to leave after crawling out of the live well and sun bathing on the fishing deck for a few minutes.
