Thanks to everyone so far. This is starting to come together. We have enough boats to get 34 heroes on the water. We need around 6 or 7 more boaters in order to reach our goal.

Remember the date for this event is November 8, 2008. The time will be determined as we get closer. It will be a morning start for sure. We'll see how "morning" it is.

We are currently working on feeding everyone on Saturday and also some other "stuff". thumb I will keep this thread updated as much as possible. As we get sponsors and people willing to help out, I will post them here as soon as they are committed....have committed. grin

If anyone wants to volunteer to do anything else, please PM or e-mail me and we'll find something for you to do. This event is relatively close to home for a lot of us so we can all get involved.

I also need 1 boater that would be willing to go out and run Mike and his wife Dena around as a camera boat.

If you have posted with me as a boater, please go here and register as a boater if you have not already done so. That makes it ofishal. thumb

Here is the list of boaters and how many soldiers you are signed up to take in your boat.

Jeff Schiller - 2
Omar Cotter - 3
Jigum Jigs - 2
Placidpeninsula - 3
BigMack - 2
Bamaboy - 2
Fishinclyde - 2 (skinny laugh )
Kennercraig - 4
SheldonS - 2
Skeeter175 - 2
Redfish1975 - 2
Brian Spagnola - 2 (skinny laugh )
oltom - 2
Kerry Neal - 3
oldrock - 2
Don the Angler - 2
otisinwf - 3
johnnlucky - 2
LvillLrat - 2

We need more boaters please.

i would love to volunteer my boat but know nothing about the lake. fisterfams wife likes to fish too so you will get to fish as well if you volunteer to be a camera boat. i had a great time at the hubbard event that took place on the 26th.

i would not mind tagging along on one of the bigger boats and helping out like a deck hand or something for the lady soilders if your in need of someone to helpout let me know it woudld be a good opportunity for me learn a little about the lake.

pm me for anything

Jeff/Mike: On the TASF site, the disclaimer mentions "tourny" and "weigh in". My boat is a fish/ski and doesn't have a live well. As soldiers caught fish, I was planning on weighing, measure, snap a pic and release (I have scales, ruler and weigh bags). Is this ok? If I need a live well, I have plenty of room in the back - perhaps someone can help me put one together?

Can you please post and PM me response.

melanie

Some of the TASF events have been made in to a tournament format. We will not be doing that.

Our goal is to put some soldiers in some boats, go out, catch fish and have fun. The emphasis is going to be on having fun.

If we decide later on - still over 3 months away - to make it a tournament format, be assured that it would be a very friendly competition. We will let everyone know well in advance if that is going to happen.

But for right now, no tournament. Just a bunch of men and women getting together, fishing and having fun. thumb

Sounds like fun. thumb

Stacy, the date is November 8, 2008. The time has not been determined. It will be in the morning, weather determing the exact time.

This is the second time I have had this question - guess I'll go add it to the first post. grin
