Speed in a bass boat only comes into play when you are rushing to a spot in a tournament, beating it to way in and trying to outrun weather.

I would reather be comfortable and have room for all my gear and run 60 than run 100 and have to go see the chiropractor.

backing this boat down to half throttle and still running over 60 was SMOOOTH!!!
no need for a troller on this boat. "can't catch fish going that fast, right?" LOL this "test session" was for topend only. most of the other boats there had their trolling motors and gear in the boat. sure was fun. the owner of this boat is a great guy.
the stroker i ran at 88mph (not w.o.t.) was fully loaded, 2 people, and all fishing gear, with 3/4 tank of fuel. one of the best rides i've ever been in. it handled the rough water better than any other boat i've ever driven, except a 21xrd. I also rode in a 21ft. cobra with 225. this one didn't ride nearly as smooth as the bullet or the stroker. it hit the water hard due to it being so heavy. still a very nice boat! the owner of the cobra is very good friend of mine. the new Allison was also extremely smooth riding. really surprised me how soft it hit when going over rough water!

I have fished out of many of boats and I can tell you this, The heavy fiberglass boats do ride real good in ruff water, But I like the Express boats. They are aluminum boats with the V hull style but they are FAST and alot of deck space to fish. Another good thing about these boats you can launch and get back into water no one else can. Watch out for the hole shot! I had a X19 w/ 200 yamaha VMAX and out run 225's on fiberglass boats. West boats in Mesquite Texas knows how to set them up too.And Butch is a great Guy and Vet.
This is just my opinion.
But everyone has there own ideal boat, But fishing as a nonboater will help you decide what kinda boat would be good for you. And I do want to say THANKS to all those Boaters I have fished with over the years in the ABA.
If you ain't fishin you ain't livin.
