I posted about water wagons in the tube room, but I saw several on the fort worth fly fishing website and I thought one of you might know where to get one. I saw several in the gallery section. I always seem to loose air in my tube and wanted to try something different that didn't require a pump. They had one called "the kicker" at there auction in 2006. Any ideas? ANY PICTURES of a water wagon or Styrofoam kickboat? sorry about the rambling. juggle

I used to have one but traded it for a fly rod to pearow down in Athens TX.

Wish I knew if anyone still made them. But I don't.

Just make your own. It is not hard. My buddy and I roughed our first one out in about 30 min. We had to talk about it then draw on it several times take a cold drink break or two. You just need a piece of styro not less than 10" thick. We used saws(get the finest tooth saw you can find), but it would not be as messy if you took the time to make a hot knife/wire.

How has it been holding up? I think that those could be quite the ticket for a lot of freshwater fly fishing.

And what was your source of a big old chunk of styrofoam? Inquiring minds want to know..... smile

Holding up great! I just never store in outside(sunlight frown ) They are soooo much better than a tube. Lots of room to store gear/snacks. You only need hip waders when cold and shorts when warm. They sit you about 2 feet higher than a tube and NEVER leak air. Right now my fly fishing buddy found several pieces on his route that where going to be trashed. As far as a place to buy some I would try a google search, call local boat dealer, or check with a marina.

thanks Lee. That is mainly why I swapped mine off, it had to live outside and was not going to last very well out there I could tell at once. So I sent it to a better home and got a sweet pearow two weight in it's place.

I have an outside storage building for mine and my buddy hangs his flat on the ceiling of his garage with bungy straps and I-hooks. I just love these things. They are much faster than a tube.

I bet they are, I bet they are. It actually startles me a bit they they have been no more popular than they are.

I know next to nothing about working with styrofoam but it seems like it ought not be that hard to build a mold and pour some of those things

No, I think it would be MUCH easier to buy, because it has to be closed cell styro. The raw product is easy to work if you do not get in a big hurry. We used a Skillsaw to make the first cut to each side and finished the cut with a hand saw. Found this in the tube section http://www.thermafoam.com/dock_flotation.html
