Just got back from Canyon Lake went out with one of my friends, we haven't been able to fish together for a couple of years due to jobs and schedules. Went through about 3/4 of a 60oz tub of Wicked Sticky caught a mess of channels and C&R'ed few carp 2 of the carp were around 15lb and one spit out the hook at the boat he looked like he would have been close to 40lb (what a fight). In this heat I have to keep the WS cooled down or it doesn't stick very long on the holder. I may have to give your Fury Thing a try.

Secret 7 is an excellent bait for any channel cats under 10lbs. I've caught more fish in 8 hours that I've caught in my life of fishing(2yr) with this. In regards to the weight of the fish, it could be due to me not using the red tubes Teamcatfish supply. They should make it as a combo purchase.

Well now I know for future references. I just order some tubes with hooks about 2hrs before reading this but it's ok b/c I still got a 16oz tube of secret 7 and another half of that. Does it make a difference to use red tubes over yellow ones?

Just got my Secret 7 in the mail today (fast shipping too) with the Red Tubes and hooks. Went to Lake Belton to set up a couple of poles and see what happened. Before I got my second pole in the water my first pole was going. It was a wild time. I wanted to see the difference between the Hog Wild red tubes with a sponge and the S7 red tubes with their 2/0 hook. The S7 tube held the bait WAYYYYY better. Like has been said before, fish it like they tell you to and you'll catch fish as long as there are fish in the area. I went through about 8 oz of my 16oz tub already. Couldnt keep the fish off of it. I'll be ordering again very soon!!!

Well thats a big question sunsetroosters. I will try my best to give you some basic info.
Bank fishing for cats can sometimes be tough due to the fact that you are not as mobile as a boat fisherman. With that being said we have many bank anglers that consistently whack cats using the SECRET-7 and many other baits.
I don't know much about your lake but I would look for the wind first. If you can find some wind beating up against a bank this time of year or up into the fall you have found a spot worth trying. I have said this in many seminars "Bank fishermen cast out to where the boats are fishing and the boat anglers lots of times cast very close to the bank." Somewhere in between is usually the sweet spot. If there is no wind I would fish a little deeper. If there is wind don't be afraid to fish pretty close to the bank.
The next tip is to use 2 to 4 rods, casting at different angles and different depts. Most days after you catch one catfish you can continue to cast in the same depth and get more cats to follow. Try to fish 6 ft or shallower if there is wind.
I would move in 20 minutes or so if there was no action.
I would use 2 different types of bait holders. 3 rods with the DEAD RED Tubes and one rod with the mini FURRY THaNG bait holder.
Get up early or stay until dusk.
Hope this helps...Without knowing more information about your lake this basic info should be helpful.
Team Catfish.

Timber in 6ft or less is a good spot.Wind blown points. One thing that i find to help catch fish is to make two casts with secret 7 on the hook and reel back in.That wiil get scent in a bigger area. This will get the fish going.

Hey Teamcatfish will you do a rush order on some of the furry thangs if I place an order tomorrow? I'm here in Tx and I just order some bait tubes that obviously didnt come with the furry thangs. I didn't really take time out to look and see that all of this came as a combo set so this will be my third order. First the bait, then the dip tubes and now the bait holder. If you are able to do a rush order than let me know what I have to do. My previous orders are under the name "Stanley".

You can count me as a bank robber of cats. Burned through the rest of my S7 tonight. Had some Magic Bait Premo Sticky with me too and wanted to test it. Final count after two hours and chasing the kiddo: S7: Three channels, all keepers and a 13" white bass reeling in the Blood Red Tube to replace bait Premo: 1 5" channel. I know where my hook is baited. Thanks for the fish!!!

Rivers are great catfishing this time of year if there is some decent current flow. This would be my first choice if access was good and you could move around in the river a little. We float a few small rivers in OK and tear the cats up this time of year. You don't catch many over 8 pounds but its a lot of fun. Just find a deep spot in the river with some wood cover like an old root wad and throw the SECRET-7 as close to the front of it as possible. Use the current to move the scent into the cover and get ready, if there is a cat in there you will soon know! The strikes are usually violent, so keep an eye on your rods. The other locations to look for are the riffles if there is at least 1 ft of water in them. Also look for the end of the riffles where there is usually a deeper hole. Don't stay very long at any location if you don't get a bite......15 minutes tops. If you use the current to fish the SECRET-7 you will know very quickly if there are any catfish around. Here is a picture of my son Haydn fishing the SECRET-7 with the DEAD RED Dip Tube in front of a fallen tree. Fast current and its deep unde the tree. Here are the results! As far as the structure goes in lakes, I like to find wind blowing into muddy or log infested banks. If you find either of these combinations you should get bit. Grass is good to but very hard to fish from the bank.
