You are all set for the styrofoam boat races. Just need a competitor.

Since I am a "full-figured" guy (*255 lbs)...(Ha Ha) ...how would I calculate how large a similar boat would have to be to properly support my big butt? I'd assume I would like to have a small outboard...or...a 35 lb. thrust trolling motor with battery.... instead. Thank you.
p.s. what about registering it in TX??? That must be an issue. R

When you make an appointment at TPWD, let them know you have a homemade boat. Keep all your receipts, a game warden will inspect it, and they will register it as homemade.

Richg I am 250lbs, and one of the guys that fishes with us is over 300, they do fine for us with an old 3.3 Mercury 2 stroke.

Raw Styrofoam is banned in some waterways, and small chunks of the material can be broken off and released into the water when sliding over surfaces at boat ramps or with even minor collisions. Pockmarks and small cavities have been are clearly visible on many of the used ones that I have looked at to purchase. But the basic chunk of foam material seems to hold up its strength without any hazardous cracks when this happens. There may be a way to reduce that flaking off issue with special coatings or if they are fiberglassed.
Just my humble observations, may not be a concern for anyone else but me, ha!
