Headed out with Paul today and found fish schooling along the south shore of Hickory Creek. We concentrated on getting our slabs past the sandies and caught 10-12 hybrids most were nearly 18 inches. Gotta love that 2 ounce white and silver prism Potlicker Sorry about the camera phone photo.

I'm not going to try to mimic where you were, but what be considered the south shore of Hickory Creek?

BTW, I'm headed out in the morning. Do you know what time Lake Park opens? I wanna hit the water @ 6, so should I use Tower Bay?

I went out from 6:30-dark and went from Arrowhead, twin treed, twin poles, deadmans to the 121 cut. I never saw the first fish make a single splash. I did get into a school of dinks at 121 cut but it's a little hard to "get through the sandies" when bottom is 14 feet down. Anyway, I caught a hundred and threw every last one of them back. I just can't seem to catch a hybrid.
Nice catch Mando, and yes those are great slabs. I was using a 1.5 oz gold one from trollin' nolan and outcatching my companion boats significantly.
it's all in the wrist

You cant always(and really almost never) rely on surfacing fish--rely on your graph instead.

Mando,
Had a great time man. I'll email you my pictures later today. I had to get all of the shad out of my boat last night when I got home so my garage wouldn't cook them today. Guys, you should have seen the shad filled throats these fish had.

You cant always(and really almost never) rely on surfacing fish--rely on your graph instead. Well actually when we caught all they hybrids there was nothing on the graph. As we were casting to the edge of the schooling fish. Also at Cooper this weekend the only thing the graph was used for was for locating depth. But hey what do I know, I figure I better start listening to the pros. So I can catch some fish. Well I am off to another lake today.
