Patents are quite expensive. I invented a process to make pens out of prickly pear cactus and looked into patenting the pens/process and found it would cost me about $10,000. Also, if I started selling them before filing for the patent then I could jepordize the ability to get the patent at all. I am by no means an expert at it at all, just going by the research I found out when looking into it., FWIW.

Good luck with the bidness, Dustin!

GG,

Went to the site. Looks good so far. I did find one thing that I assume is a typo unless I misunderstand the terminology or what you are saying. (You know how dumb us bowfishermen are!)

Quote:
The leaders are made of 50lb braided line tied to a size 2 swivel with a palomar knot. Hardener has also been put on the head rapping for the best durability.

Shouldn't it be wrapping?

Just thought I would point that out to you. HTH.

You will already have the trademark with your first sale.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unregistered_trademark

The patent, you probably can't get it on this one anyway. The design is not far enough removed from other lures made years ago by many others or even sold currently on very similar websites.
In fact I'll bet you a dollar the concept has already been patented by someone long ago.

Just go with it, and good luck.

Way to go young man, I wish you the best... Really good Gar tackle. You should also make some shark rigs while you are at it. I am sending Finny Tribe a PM as he can help sell your product.

See the link on my signature. he specializes in selling regional baits. I sent him your information maybe you can sell some to him and he can distribute them for you, he sells my Potlickers and it works out better for me.

It's a temporary fix till I get the bugs worked out.

Thanks,
