First off has anyone towed with both of these trucks, or drove both?

The Tundra has a little more HP and Torq and 4.30 axle ratio, and the tundra pulls a boat like a diesel. My question is will the 6.0 chevy come close? Just based on the preformance #'s im sure the chevy has to be a little behind the tundra.

My dad has a 07 Double cab Tundra which I like, but I would go with the crewmax, and from what i have seen the crewmax's seam to be 4-8k higher than the 6.0 chevys.

Yes...and I traded my Chevy in on a Tundra. Only have about 6k miles on it but so far absolutely love the truck....and towing with it is a dream.

KD, good info there. I figured the 5.7 tundra would have a slight edge over the 6.0 chevrolet. I may have missed it but i didnt see if the GMC they tested had a 4 or 6 speed trans. Either was the tundra just has more power in there tests of pulling a travel trailer. Im just guessing but I think the pulling power of the 6.0l chevy might be good enough for pulling a boat as thats the heavyest thing this truck would pull anyway. I would rather have the Toyota but the price diff has me leaning twards the chevy or GMC.

I can understand your pricing dilema. I've never owned a Toyota and my wife has always owned imports. She bought a new 4-Runner after we got married and it impressed me enough to look at the Tundra. I was impressed with the looks and once I drove one and did a little research I was sold. My 08 Tundra with 5.7 and 6 speed still has left me with no complaints so far and I'm now at 15K miles on it.

My last truck was a Chevy so both are good choices. Good luck with your decision.

I have the chevrolet my dad has the Toyota. Both great trucks the toyota has all kinds if storage compartments and is impressive. But Im still a chevy guy. So good lick. Drive the two it seems like the toyota rides bigger and drives bigger than the chevy. Just feels bigger/ maybe my comfort level since I drive a chevy full time. Watch the gear ratios and optimum MPG

It will just come down to preference and price I think, they are both good trucks, and both fully capable of what you want to do with them. We have had a couple of the chevy's with the six litre, a reg streach cab and a crew cab never had a problem towing with either.

I had a 05 Chevy 2500 crewcab 6.0 and 4.10 rear end. Power was great and I could tow anything,,,fuel mileage sucked. I have basically the same truck now except it has a Duramax and 3.73 rear end.

5.8 Chevy gets way better gas mileage than the 5.7 Tundra

get the 5.3L chevy, plenty of power and the best gas milage of any truck.

Lol if you think the 5.3 pulls well your missing out. My last 3 trucks have all been the 5.3 and compared to the tundra it might as well be a V4.
