I do appreciate the BWS folks for getting on here and taking the time to interact and answer our questions and gripes. Nomatter how it turns out at least they are trying to give anglers a chance to fish a good trail.

I fish with my wife as a team on Frok so the money stays with her I get a lttle money for my efforts from time to time...If they could draw another 50 boats it would be great. Maybe staying closer to the Metroplex is the answer here.

Thanks to all of you too! We really appreciate the feedback. Without it we wont be able to improve the trail. Im going to figure out how to do polling on this forum & will get more ideas from the anglers.

With Nitro incentives we get your actually fishing for over 10k with a full field in the BWS. My payout for a win, which did not happen this year, with the Nitro boats, Merc , Motorguide and 250 Pro XS on the BWS is close to $14500 for a win. That's tough to beat for any circuit. Out of the 4 SE ABA events all but 1 qualified for the Nitro bonus money.
And with fields uder 100, that's the best chance to win good money. I drive from Katy to Sam and Toledo to fish these events. As this is my first year to fish BWS, I will be back for next year.

Guys what if the BWS schedule was this list of lakes possible different dates but look at the lakes. To me these lakes keep it east but with one event in the DFW area and the North east guys get a chance as well. I think this list of lakes could attract a pretty decent follwing just my guess. Let me know what you think. OR list the lakes you think would get the most entrants. Keeping fishing in your back yard out of the mix. Feb- Palestine or Tyler March- Bob Sandlin or Cypress Springs Apr- Lewisville or Eagle Mountain May- Cedar Creek June 2day event on Lake of the Pines

Here are some of the BWS and BFL lakes and the number of boats that fished each tourney in '07 and '08. By looking at this, I don't think the size of the tourney has anything to do with whether or not there are tournaments in the Dallas area or not. I think the reason for the lack of support in North and Northeast Texas is due to all the mom and pop tournament circuits. If there weren't so many little trails, then more people would fish these circuits.
BFL Cowboy Div. 2007 Sam Rayburn - 164 Livingston - 111 Conroe - 104 Toledo Bend - 101 Sam Rayburn - 137
BFL Cowboy Division 2008 Whitney - 55 Lewisville - 55 Palestine - 58 Richland Chambers - 52
BASS Weekend Series - Texas East Div. 2007 Palestine - 56 Richland Chambers - 45 Cedar Creek - 38 Lewisville -36
BASS Weekend Series - Texas East Div. 2008 Palestine - 55 Richland Chambers - 52 Cedar Creek - 43 Lake Tyler - 44

Were is the Dallas area Trail? Thats what I am trying to say one event on Lewisville is not a Dallas or DFW area trail when the other 3 events are 2 hours from Dallas. The reason there are so many mom and pop trails in the DFW area is that are trying to fill a void left by the Major tournament organization and yes I do agree there are to many.

We all know the fuel costs are killing us so prefishing is not an option or very little. Sunday's is church day with the family. If they don't drawing more people than last year, you can't or barliy make your expenses back. I for one will be staying at Fork next year. I can't be driving all over east texas where the payouts are so poor. First place at 5k which is good and Triton Gold but the rest of the payout is not. Media Fork 100+ is where I'm at... Media payback 99 teams on Fork team trail. 1 $3,200.00 2 $1,600.00 3 $1,100.00 4 $900.00 5 $750.00 6 $620.00 7 $520.00 8 $440.00 9 $420.00 10 $370.00 11 $340.00 12 $310.00 13 $280.00 14 $260.00 15 $250.00 16 $240.00 17 $229.00 18 $215.00 19 $200.00 Weekender series bayback 52 anglers 1 $5,000.00 ($10,000.00 With Triton Black Gold Bonus) 2 $1,279.00 4 $853.00 5 $597.00 6 $512.00 7 $754.00 8 $426.00 9 $384.00 10 $341.00 11 $256.00 12 $247.00 My calculator indicates the WS is a better option - 1/5 chance at 5k verses 1/10 chance at 3k Just curious on your math 99/19 5.2 so Media did have a 1 in 5 payback. And the entry fee is a bit different Than the weekend series with a 200 hundred dollar entry. and Media with a 150 dollar entry. Make that entry 200 and they would have almost an additional $5,000 to pay back. The payout was never an issue about the Weekend Series nor how it was run. My whole thing is do not blame support from DFW guys on having a trail in East Texas just have the trail in East Texas. There is no need to give reasons have the trail were you want it and those that can make it will and those that can not will not. Like I said if gas prices go back down or I get a huge raise I will probably fish but right now it does not make sense business wise. Why travel that far when I can stay close to home and fish for the same money. I am simply stating by moving even futher East they will lose most of the guys that have to drive that far. Let me be clear I have no problem with how the trail is run or with the lake being fished other than the reason that have been giving for moving a trail to east Texas that was a Northeast/DFW trail to begin with. think about this tim if your co angler pays you gas money 50 - 75 dollars what is your entry fee now?

Entry fee is not the issue, pay out is not the issue, how the trail is run is not the issue or the lakes. It is the distance one has to drive to get there. I do not care if the entry was 500 a man if it did not cost me that much to drive down to practice and fish. It might be worth it. This whole issue of entry and payout is a non-issue for me. There needs to be an offlimits all week if the event is going to held on Sat. There are co-anglers that pay $75 for fuel? I need to get those draws. But there is no way I would except that much unless I ran a long way We all know the fuel costs are killing us so prefishing is not an option or very little. Sunday's is church day with the family. I like that schedule. I fished the Weekend Series last year and fished the BFL this year. I would like to fish both next year if the dates don't conflict and I hit the lotto.
