Fiancee gonna buy me a birthday present...so which baitcaster would you recomend for under a bill????

If you like a smaller reel I would suggest the Shimano Citica 100 DSV. It is basicly a Curado 100B. I have a couple and when you clean out the stock grease in the bearings and add some Rocket Fuel it cast a smooth as my 50mg's. You can get them off of ebay for about $80. I got lucky and got one for $57 shipped the other day !!

the cheaper H20's mettle has more bearing and better handles than the higher ones..I have some and so far they are as good as my Diawa's

H20 Mettles! Right now my academy has the mettle combos for $49.99. the mettle in the display case is $59.99.
You do the math, also the mettle has the 10 BBs and the good handle. You get two mettle and two new decent rods for $100.00

i do close manually my line tangels between rod tip and water i use a sedonna by shimano 8# cajun line ball bearing swivel sometimes not replace line regulaly dont think i overload the spool think ill try 6#or4# thanks

I say BPS Pro qualifier. I have 3 of them and they are incredible for the money. I throw everything from wacky worms to DD22 with them.

Just bought 2 H2O Maurades (sp?) and love them. $54/per. They are 8 bearings versus the 10 bearing Mettle, but the star drag and reel handle are forged alluminum not plastic. Either model is a great deal. Very smooth.
