This is the exact reason I fish with loomis rods. I have sent quit a few rods and have never paid a dime, due to warranty.

I always hate to think any company would fail to stand behind their product. BTW, did you call back and talk with Ryan about the problem?

I just read the GLoomis waranty and its almost the same as the Kistler warranty. They are both Limited Lifetime and the cheaper Loomis rods have a 1 year warranty. Damages occurring due to neglect, accident or normal wear and tear will, at the company's discretion, be repaired or replaced for a specific fee. That is from G Loomis website and thats for GL to the GLX. Its all just what floats your boat.........

You need to re-read the Loomis warranty. All rods except fly rod outfits are guaranteed for materials and workmanship for life. The fly rod outfits, fly reels and push poles are guaranteed for one year. Also, be sure and read about the "Xpeditor" program: $50 no questions asked replacement for broken rods.

Have you ever seen a thread like this about G Loomis or even anyone posting about a return problem with G Loomis. Have you ever even heard of anyone having to call this or that special person for warranty service from G Loomis. There's a Kistler thread like this regularly. In fact, nearly every broken rod thread will have someone posting their poor Kistler experience in it (check out the Carrot Stick thread for an example).

Why do you guys just keep bashing this to death. Trey is a good guy and has sold just about as many rods as anyone in the rod bus. If he was so bad why is he still selling rods like no tommrow and building another 100,000 sf shop I think he has got it going on over there and know what he is doing. I went to school with Trey and he is a stand up guy every rod will have the breaks and dislikes but that's the way it is there is no reason to keep pushing the issue. If you think other rod companys have not had the same problem then you are not fishing that product or fishing it hard like others on this board. There are guys on here that think they have to put the fish in the boat on the hook set and break rods and there is no telling how many on here step on those rods everytime and just don't know about it or there partner does. Rods will break that's the way it is and I have heard storys about G-Loom alot about the same thing but if they take care of it then be happy and move on.

Most of the complaints I read on this forum do not necessarily revolve around Kistler quality or technology. The complaints nearly always involve inconsistant policy when a return is made. Kistler should review it's return policy, decide on one that makes sense for them as a corporation, and follow that policy. There should be no confusion and it should not revolve around calling the "right" person. It should be a policy understood by everyone from the owner to the person that picks up the phone. The best guarantee in the world is worthless if it is inconsistanly applied.
Personally, I am happy with my Kistler rods. However, I have not had to return one, yet.

I undersatnd what you are saying (But) you new that was comming LOL. If Trey did not know his bus do you think he would be where he is today in the rod company world today. He knows how to treat people right that is way most rod companys are following suit no ? about that they always want to know what Kistler is doing next or what will come out with next. He has pushed the bar way up there for alot of company to keep up and put the best rods out there to compete with him and he has done a great job.
