this is the reason I dont put much money into rods and reels. If I break one of my rods I will just go buy another one for the same or less than the 35 fee they want to charge. I'll be getting my first Kistler rod next week at the Skeeter tournament, so we will see how it works out.

Same exact story here. I have 3 LTA's er make that 2 LTA's now and 1 Magnesium. I broke an LTA outside of warranty. Called them up, and same story. So basically I paid $270 for a rod I used for less than 18 months. I will be replacing the rest of my Kistlers with Falcon. I love the rods but I will not buy another Kistler.

You could just use Vicious line on all your Kistler and will never have a problem... Well of course thats because the line will break on the hook set instead of the rod.... I knew they had a reason behind it.

I HIGHLY doubt that you don't get a brand new rod after calling Trey. I have broke at least 5 rods I can think of, shipped them off and had them back within a week and a half. Trey just told me not to worry about the fee. W/o a doubt the best customer service of any company I've ever dealt with. my only complaint is the brittleness of the rods, but I guess it's not a problem when they take care of the broken ones. But you definitely need to talk to Trey

I fish with alot of powells and dobyns. Love them both just that i liked one rod for that one use. Not trying to start a ford vs. chevy post just that i was disappointed from the response I recieved..

Call Michael Hendrix. You can't go wrong with Hendrix rods, and they're 100 bucks cheaper.
