Ok...time for some BS story tellin' (I'm sure it'll go to that quickly ). How hardcore/dedicated of a catfisherman are ya?

Put punchbait on with my fingers. Put catfish and shad in the same cooler as my drinks. Put a dip of chew in immediately after baiting the hook up with punchbait w/ nothing more than a wipe of my fingers on my pants. Find shad scales in the pockets of pants that I didn't wear fishing. Slam on the brakes to pick up 2.5 gallon jugs laying alongside the road. How 'bout y'all?

I ain't as good as I once was...But yeah..I have done that..Might do it again this weekend. Just packed some new bearings, going to put some new tires on the trailer, installed a couple of power plugs for the q-beam, getting ready to re-deck the old boat. Going to be hell on wheels this summer. Me and my boys (8 years down to 4) Baseball is over for the season....Time to get hardcore when I can and chasing crickets for the kids. Going to be a good summer.

Mason jars, flashlights, and back country roads man...go getcha some o' them big ol' yella grassumhoppas. If ya wanna get a BUNCH of 'em, build ya a grasshopper cage to keep 'em in.

When I was a kid my mom wash a coat that had shad in the pockets. went to run lines on Hubard and broke a thin layer of ice on the lake.back in 75 or 76

Haha...shad in the pockets is hilarious. Had one similar a few years ago. Had been doing ALOT of field work, including some sites where a 10 yd. seine haul would pull up a couple hundred of these little guys called "pupfish". Apparently, one found his way into my pocket...I found him in the clothes dryer when taking my clothes out.

As far as cold...I've done the whole frost on the rods, iced over eyes, water on the dock freezes in a few minutes, hand hurts so bad ya wanna cry while cleaning a catfish thing. Even went in the snow a couple of times just for grins.

Well nothin like that yet, but I did start my first batch of punch bait today. Blood, brains, cheese, ground rancid fat, and later cattails...

I've been intendin' on makin' up a batch of it myself. That and some chum...the chum might be dangerous to make seein' as how I live in an apt. complex. Maybe I could let it fester in the boat stall instead. Thinkin' about maybe wheat, beef blood, and ground up shad for the chum.

lmao! I put my shad in the same cooler as my drinks too! one time i put some liver in there and forgot about it, man my drinks smelled bad for ever! lol

Was palpating a pregnant mare without my armpit gloves...got done and didn't think to wash my hands before getting a dip of snuff...yummy.

Well I've knocked ice off the seats where the bait-tank splashed them. I've also had to dip my reel in the lake to get the ice off of the spool. Jack and I were both questioning our sanity. Also had my bait-tank splash out water on the way to the lake and left a layer of ice on the bottom of my boat and dang near busted my butt getting in. Then after puttin in the water I had to use my dip net to drip water on my stearing linkage to melt the ice that wouldn't allow me to steer. I think sanity is a matter of opinion.

Been there, done that with shad on the side.

I'm so hardcore I've chummed out two-month-old soured corn with my bare hands... 25 pounds of it.

and chummed with fish slush that had been buried in a jar for the entire summer months and was rank with botulism...
