I posted a while back that my favorite pond was being drained and filled in to make room for a parking lot. Well they started draining it. Dont know what happened to the fish. Went by there the other day and it is full of huge bull frogs. Hungry ones at that. Took a couple of jigs with me and had a frog try to eat it. Then went to the community lake yesterday and had a huge bull frog try to eat my jig again. Wonder what I can get for bull frogs??? Frog legs anybody???

I am in Heartland. Off I20 and FM 741. I really dont know how you would transport them, dog carrier maybe. These are huge.

Gofish, I'm about an hour east of you.

Doesnt have a name. Its inside the Heartland community. Therefore you can only fish if you live here or know someone who lives here. Resident has to be with you.

Take a right. Go one mile. Take a left on Heartland Pkwy. Go to the park entrance on the right. I can meet you there if I know your coming. The park is at the lake. The pond is farther into the community.

Now we're talking!! It's hard to beat some good ol' fashioned frog fishin! This is a little past time that I discovered with a couple of my friends about 2 years ago. We had heard about and experienced bullfrogs in the pass randomly pouncing a buzzbait as well as other baits. Living in the heart of the Houston med. center, we started killing time by going frog fishing (rather than gigging)at night in some local ponds. We got pretty good at it and caught a bunch of those fierce little predators. Most people don't know it, but bullfrogs will eat just about anything (including crawfish and small turtles). If anyone would like to know more about the best ways to catch them let me know. I get a kick out of talking about it. As far as transporting them, these are extremely hearty little suckers and it's almost impossible to kill 'em. You can toss em in a softy cooler or anything else with a secure lid and they will make it home no problem (and any of them don't make it you can always fry you up some froglegs!)
