i like mine, cause it gives me both hands on the wheel. it definately kept me safe crossing the huge rollers last night that were coming from under a bridge. I was able to adjust my speed while maintaining both hands on the wheel. kept the waves from coming over the side... some I needed to gun it on, and some I needed to slow down... all in quick reflex.

I like mine... I wouldn't own another boat with out one Just be carefull when you get in another boat without a hotfoot. I am in the habbit of throwing my shift lever all the way foward, then applying the fuel with my foot, well I got in my stepdad's boat (no hotfoot) and put it in gear like I always do and about threw him out of the boat

I have had one in both of my last two boats. Only problem I have ever had was when I would go to drive someone elses boat. My foot would automatically go to where the hot foot should be when there wasn't one there.

Probably one of the best, lower cost improvements you can make on your boat. Not only does it make the boat safer, it is much more comfortable to drive. As stated above, there are many times you need both hands on the wheel.

A better question may be..hot foot, does anyone not use them? They should be mandatory for todays bass boats. Makes driving easier, safer.
The first time I used one was in my new boat. Pulled into a cove, slowed down, took my foot off the gas and tried to hit the brakes. Just like driving a car.

I will never own another boat without a hotfoot and tilt/trim on the column.
I don't understand how some people run a hotfoot and then still use the yoke for tilt and trim. If I have to keep my hand on the yoke to trim, then I can use the yoke for the throttle as well. In rough water, I am constantly changing speed and tilt/trim to best attack the waves. My new boat has hydraulic jackplate on the column as well, so I'll get to see how much that will help.
