I wonder if we could get it on the Ticket? They don't have anything running that time of morning, but they don't have the power that KRLD does so range would be less.

Yeah, the power of the Ticket's signal would be a problem, especially that early in the a.m. Maybe the Range 95.3. They used to have Luke Clayton Outdoors. They might pick it up. Their signal is kinda weak too though; but not as weak as the Ticket.

It is carried on the Texas State Network (TSN) which is owned y CBS. It has to be on a CBS station. CBS has several FM stations in the metroplex but KRLD is the only full power am station. They are the logical choice to carry it. Gavin Spittle VP of programming responded to a couple of my emails yesterday but in one I point blank asked him, how many emails and calls did he get asking to run the Costas show. OF course, he didn't reply to that one because the answer is zero. He, however, has received many calls and eamils about the fishing show. Keep them coming and we will win this one. Even if you don't listen to the show, you need to call or email just because we need a fishing show on the air. It helps our sport.

Earlier in the week I and several others fired off emails to several of KRLD's advertisers with a CC to Gavin Spittle the program director. Today I sent an email to Gavin thanking him for changing his mind. Here is his response:
No problem, customer service is something we pride ourselves with. Ill be honest, were working really hard to find room for both programs. Im not a spin artist and I tell the truth. Im hoping Frank that you and many others will contact the same advertisers you reached out to. We like to be the exception when it comes to answering emails and phone calls. Im hoping that you will let those advertisers know that your experience dealing with KRLD has been a good one.
Thanks, Gavin Spittle VP of Talk Programming KLLI-FM 105.3/KRLD NewsRadio 1080 CBS Radio Dallas/Ft Worth 7901 John Carpenter Hwy Dallas, TX 75247

I sent them a great big thanks stating to them that their responsiveness to this situation is the reason they are one of the nation's top radio stations.
Nothing wrong with giving them the big head!

Good for KRLD.
If truth be known NOTHING in that time slot would probably make any money for the station. It would seem to me that the right thing to do would be to air the programming that positively effects the most people in the stations listening area. I would imagine that would be the fishing show....but of course I am biased.

This is a copy of the email I just sent to Mr.Spittle at KRLD. It might be nice of us all to send him a message or call him on his phone for making this switch.
Dear Mr.Spittle,
I wish to give you a heart felt thank you for caring about what your listeners have to say. I am very glad that you reinstated the Texas Fishing & Outdoor Show in its Saturday 5-7 am slot. I hope you will also continue to keep it in its 5am slot on Sunday mornings. Myself and my friends at The Texas Fishing Forum think a lot about that program and the time of day that it's on. I once again would like to thank you and KRLD for your interest in your listeners. I am certain that with the kind of management you bring to your station, KRLD will continue to be one of the top talk radio stations in the nation.
Sincerely, Rick Tuttle / bigfish1
