Thanks a lot all!

The weights were 33lbs for the buffalo, 28lbs for the common carp.

Baits were boiled and sweetened field corn and tiger nuts ( Chufa/Turkey feed ).

As for smiling...well, other then the whole overblown "respect for the fish thing"...

Both those fish woke me up from what little sleep I had gotten that night, so I was dead tired! The buffalo came about 3am, and the carp came right after it had gotten light out lol.

USCC - Those fish were caught on my "long session" rigs, which are 11' Cabela's Predator Rods, and Okuma EB65 spinning reels with baitrunner feature.

They were both caught on 14lb test, not bad when you're talking 30lb fish! Twice line weight is good by me hehehe.

I do a lot of my carp fishing on a 6.5' ultra light berkley lightening rod with 6lb test. But when I'm fishing several days straight, I'll break out the bigger gear and the electronic bite alarms. But 14lb is is heavy a line as I'll use for carp fishing, cause I'm all about the fight.

justin might look tired but keep remember is was not much more then a year ago we didn't know if he was ever gonna fish with us again....then again it could have been the beer..like really really good beer....good enough I bit a catfish beer...that made him look that way....say what you will about us carpers....but we do have a very good/safe (we stay out of boats) time!

really though Lake Fork is coughing up some HUGE fish for us....it wasn't all that long ago that a 20lb carp in texas that didnt come from a lake in austin was unheard of!

again awesome fish justin well earn and congrats!
