soap Let me get this straight with you...nogeese gave me some lures to try. I tried 'em, I like 'em. I don't say I like something if I don't whether the lures come free or not. If you don't like them, don't buy them, use them, or whatever. Why talk bad about a lure you have never tried? I like Humdingers too. Caught fish on both. If I say I hate something, I do. If I say I like it, I do. I don't appreciate anyone thinking I am talking good about a lure just cause I got freebies to try. We are here to fish, and learn about fishing. I learned I like both lures. If you have a problem with that, I am sorry. You shouldn't knock a lure you haven't ever tried, and that is my opinion as well.

I went to EM to catch catfish and on the way in I saw some surfacing shad and decided to give Geese's Mice a try.

5 casts and I picked up 3 sand bass... The lure hummed well and did not hang up and did run true.

Not knocking them. But you did confirm my thoughts. You see, when somebody does something nice like give you some lures and they work, a good person feels obligated to report the success in return. Just wanted to know if that was what's going on or if these were the best thing to fishing since the hook was invented. I have no doubt that they work from all the threads and posts about them. If they didn't work, they'd probably end up at the bottom of your tackle box and we wouldn't see any posts about it.

Fishing is always good, its the catching that varies.

Then why would you you post a knee-jerk statement pertaining to the lure? Maybe to discredit the lure maker?

It has been observation by talking to may people that if a lure does not work they will, well just not say anything about the lure they tried. But if they do not work for them it does not mean they will not work for someone else. I mean that is why Baskin Robbins has 31 flavors buddy... Trying to come up with a new lure is like trying to re-invent the wheel...

In my opinion there are only two original proprietary lures(slabs) on this forum. Sandjohnny's Ole' Ugly and The Beast. Everything else can be made from molds purchased online or from Do-It Molds.

Back to the Mice they may not be really pretty but they work...

Eight, part of the appeal of BB's mice is the cost - he only charges $2 for each one. It doesn't hurt that they work well for multiple species.

I can't say that they work better or worse than Humdingers, but they are superior to a Little George or any tailspinner you can find at Bass Pro.

Hey Guys, There is room for everyone.
What better way to find out if the lure works for the general fisherman than to get it in his or her hands? Feedbacks and reports from those fishermen that are using the lures are the best way to improve the lure. What better way to get them in the hands of the best fishermen anywhere than on the Texas Fishing Forum? (three to four hundred heads are better than one).
One thing is for certain, the guys making their own lures or lures for sale to the public by web sites or word of mouth, are doing it for the love and enjoyment of making something that works. When it works well, you just hit a home run.
It's not for the money. We all could work at WalMart as a greeter for minimum wage and make more money. With the rising cost for materials, fuel and postage, I just hope that ALL the lure makers can continue to provide their product.
Some cannot imagine the sense of accomplishment that making a lure and catching a fish on that lure will provide. If you have ever thought, "I could make that, or make it better", jump in, get your feet wet and give it a try. You may be supprised when you find out that you COULD make it better and it DOES work.
We don't drive only one brand of cars, trucks or boats; play golf with only one club or fish with only one rod or lure.
Personal choice.
There is room for everyone.

thanks for all the kind words everyone... and to be honest it is now slabbin season not to say that the mice wont work on surfacing fish but a slab is your best bet right now. I personally like catching them surfacing and I can guarentee you that there is one tied on in my boat right now...

zeek nailed our "mission statement" It may not be pretty but it catches fish and it is cheap!

Leroy is EXACTLY CORRECT about being a door greaterat WAL-MART because I still need to sell about 100 more baits before I break even! smile and we have been at it for several months now. the best thing about makeing baits is you get to meet lots of folks that for the most part are good people...

KelKay, Frank, aggieraf, stumpjumper, xyz, zeek, DTA... are all real nice folks that we have had the pleasure to meet/do bussiness with and all have caught fish :), as far as I am concerned, it is great to take a hunk of lead and use it to meet people.

Very well said Leroy...

By the way I have a Humdinger I bought 3 years ago that has probably caught 300 sand bass as is still in its original state.
