I went to the Casino Tues night (big mistake and forgot about your post about the Bass tourney every Tues night)...and didn't catch much, as when I arrived after 6 P.M, a cazillion bass boats were docked in our slips, including all 3 of ours. I kindly explained to them that I don't own boat, worked all day, and had made the drive to fish the slips, but the one's parked in the slips didn't budge.
However, I did meet JP Gleason (TFF admin guy) and he was really cool and understood, as did many of the other bass guys who weren't parked in our slips. Not moaning or complaining, but do think it's up to us now to keep boats from staging or parking in the slips we pay for. Once we do that, it'll be a great place to come anytime of the week.
So with that said, when should we start our project of both shading and blocking off those 3 slips to boats? Thinking about bringing an old buddy of mine out sometime on Friday. Geez guys, quit yer yakking and just block up the slips. It's like a soap opera with you. Chains just are not that $, a thick rope would work as well to keep boats out. Just get it done and shut up. This doesn't even deserve a reply...so going to leave it alone.

Ditto Eric. Just another "bored Benny" lurking thru the threads trying to find a pot to stir. Just read his NINE posts...he's not out to make friends with anyone.

Agreed, Stacy. A newbie lacking social skills that's gonna eventually get him hurt in the long run.
Hey, by the way, decided to try LL Barge this morning now that the holiday is over (go back to work tomorrow) and had "the crack" all to myself. Caught 15 on jigs, but only 3-4 were keepers around 10".
Was fun though and left when the storms approached. We need to hook up soon. May go out one evening after work Thurs/Fri and take an old Bell High buddy with me. Maybe I'll see you out there soon.

Primo, are you saying your boat tags were $385??? I used to fish Lake Worth in the 80s and early 90s and wear out the barndoor crappies. Just remember....throw the ones that glow back!

Primo, go dock-shooting those docks or reeds around that lake. Hear it's hot fishing those spots. Like I told ya the other day when we were at Marine Creek, I'll teach ya how to dock-shoot, just like the guides taught me.
Once you do that with jigs and catch some big uns under certain docks, you may never go back to minners that often.

Primo,
My buddy and I are heading out to the Casino Friday evening, around 6:30 PM. Hopefully you'll be able to fish a few hours before heading out to Cali.
Bring your lights!

Did someone install a thick rope to keep boats out of one of the slips? Saw a thick rope last night I hadn't seen before at the entry end of one of the slips.
Also, who's fish basket is in the water? That thing is all kinds of nasty and should be removed. Same thing goes for the metal minnow bucket....it's full of rotting minnows.

Dunno Stacy. The basket is DJF's, and the minner bucket is some member I've never met and hasn't been out there in months I hear. Think his name is ProCrappie or ProAngler or something like that.
Personally, I can't stand those old metal buckets and agree with you that if they're not being used, maybe they shouldn't be left, but the yellow bucket is Primo's and should still have good minnows in it (stocked it with a few dozen about a week ago).
I don't know who did the rope thing, but Josh's dad has some 2X6's that he said we could use. We just need to bring a drill and some metal and wood screws and do our thing. Just a matter of doing it.

Primo's bucket had nothing but dead minnows as well.
Due to the hot weather now and the sun shining in on the minnow buckets, they are probably not gonna keep any more. Maybe in a shaded spot, but not where sunlight hits them for a few hours a day.

Good points and agree. I just brought my own and me and my buddy fished with a few dozen. Got em' at the Indian Creek camp grounds/store that Josh owns now I believe and the guy there is open 7a-7p and is super nice.
Caught 1 keeper crappie, 3 bass, and 2 channels. Primo's flood light wasn't working, as it was plugged in already when I checked it, so likely the bulb was toast. My buddy Heath forgot his light (including a green light), so we only fished til' about 9:30p and called it a night.

No...I opened the lid and inspected for snakes first! I had a floating minner bucket one year, while fishing out of my boat, that a snake crawled into and killed all the minnows. I kept coming up with handfulls of dead minnows so I went down to the bottom of the bucket hoping to find some live ones. What I found was a snake that wrapped around my hand real fast like a dam boa constrictor!! Needless to say I hollered like I'd been shot and did an Indian rain dance in my boat! He crawled in through the spring loaded door and couldn't get back out. I didn't have an extra pair of undies with me so I had to go home and change!

LMAO, now that's a picture I'll have in my head awhile Stacy!
Been there done that as well, and I'm like that around bees/wasps/yellowjackets as well, as they're the only thing I'm allergic too and can die from.
So needless to say, when one of those, OR one of those friggin hairy-butt, big spiders gets near me, I do my little freak n jig exhibition for about a minute. My wife gets a kick out of it and makes me want to kick her arse sometimes. LOL
