Got to Benbrook at about 7am this morning(very glad to be back from Salt Lake) and started at Mexican Ridge. Picked up a few small sandbass but not much else. Saw boats and birds at Airplane field but didn't feel like joining the boat show. Caught some shad and picked up a nice hybrid at the humps. Thought that would be it for the day but got convinced to try an area I was at earlier in the day. Anchored up and wham--shad didnt hit the bottom--fat sandbass. Reloaded shad--wham 19in hybrid. Was gonna put out 3 rods with shad but couldnt keep bait on 2 before I would get hit. Action slowed after a dozen or so sandbass and 1/2 dozen hybrids. Continued to pick up hybrid or sandbass every few minutes so I picked up a TNT slab and started getting nice sandbass and ugh tons of yellow bass. Ended the day at around 2 with about 12 hybrids and about 20 sandbass-didnt count the yellows. Brought back 5 fat sandbass that were hooked deep for a special white bass and pasta recipe-(well its tuna helper with broiled sandbass instead of tuna--try it before you laugh) Good times and close to home. Used maybe 1 gallon in boat and 1 in truck.

Yeah...what gives smile smile

Nice job of catching on Benbrook. Joann, Kyle and I had a great time on Hubbard and the white bass were pretty good size!!!

EJ, Interesting report. My boat has been out of the water for a few days for maintenance, got it back in early afternoon today. We found it a littel slow, but did catch some crappie ( we were after sandies) and one was a black crappie. First one I have seen, pretty interesting with the black stripe.
Congrats on your good day!

Bob
I appreciate the TFF.

Nice! I've not been so lucky last few times out to BB. But, will try again, and again, and again..... I guess I kinda like the challenge, in a sick self-tormenting way. Friday, I had a bait tank full of perfect size shad in two nets. That should have told me something right off. Couldnt get a bite???? Oh well...
Cheers,
Anthony

I lost my spot on the boat because I got outfished by a 5yr old(Danny's boy smile ) Naw Danny's boat was full and I was in SLC all week so I didnt have a chance to fish the lake. Maybe next time.

Well, after all the help I finally found some hybrids, not as many as Jason but a few just the same. I got on the wtr about 6:oo pm, had a hard time finding large shad but scraped together some and went and anchored up and ended up w/ 4. 19 1/2", 20", and 2- 17 15/16" smile. My wife got to reel them all in. It was a blast. Thanks again!!!!!!!!! Allen--

Dang yellers are dumber than rocks - - caught a couple on rattletrap today that were the same size as the trap.

Went this morning and got about a dozen sandies, most being pretty decent size. All came in 2-3 ft deep water on windblown points where the shad were thick. Couldn't buy a slab bite in deeper water.
