From what I have seen they are more of a Race boat that you can fish out of. They are too narrow and don't have enough storage room or Front Deck space IMO.. I have fished out of one numerous times, and I disagree. To me, they fish just like any other bass boat I have been in, at least from the back deck. And, the front deck on my friend's 22 footer is immense. The one thing I don't like about them has already been mentioned...that being that you have to pull the passenger and driver's seats up to open the back storage boxes. I think that is an example of a poorly thought out design. I agree with Razorback. They fish just like any other bass boat to me. Plenty of room on the front deck of that 21XD. Well, I take that back. They don't fish like any other boat. You couldn't get as shallow in my Ranger to bed fish as you can in the Bullet. Apples and Oranges there in comparision. I will say the Bullet rode better in rough water than my Ranger. I was also out in a Skeeter ZX250 with Yamaha 250 the same weekend I fished in the Bullet. There ride wasn't even close to the Bullet. However, it could have been the driver. I was told the reason you have to lift the seats up to open and close the boxes is to make sure they are always shut. You don't want to rip the lids off your storage boxes at 80MPH+ across the lake if you forgot to latch one. One thing I'd like to see them change is run the front deck all the way back to the front of the consols and then do the step down like the center storage. Make a top door on the deck with the center storage and your step up/down a cooler. I know I'm going to take a hard look at Bullet/Gambler when I got to buy my next boat.
Let's DO IT!

I don't know why we Bullet owners waste our time trying to convince others that it's an all around bad arse fishing machine. Who cares if they don't want to get one! It's funny how evryone will stare your boat down as your idling past them. They are staring and thinking that is a nice race boat..lol Because they don't have as much room and storage in them as most 21 ft boats.

For anyone that thinks a 21XD is a smooth, dry Ride evidently doesnt understand.
If You think a 21XD has great Fishability evidently dosnt understand either.
After Fishing out of One for 3 Years I do. Their a fast River Boat that probably needs to be kept on the Streams or the smaller City Lakes. Now the newer Bullets You might graduate to something the size of the Metro Lakes with.

What's the deal with some dude trying to sell his sled on a Bullet thread? Seriously, nobody asked about your Skeeter.

I guess I am confused. What would make the "newer Bullet" better at handling a larger lake than an older Bullet?

Again, what I say is very subjective and just based on physics. But it's hard to believe a light boat like a Bullet would ride and be more stable then let's say a Ranger. But a Ranger won't go 90 MPH either. I don't own a Ranger (I'm a BassCat guy), but it all depends what's important to you.
For my style, BC has the best combination by far.

His transom probably went out on the Skeeter, or it delaminated, or the seats tore, or there are blemishes in the top cap. And the only way your going to get a smooth dry ride in any boat in waves over about 2 1/2 ft is to buy one of those crabbing boats and fashion a helluva long trolling motor shaft. lol

I guess I don't understand. And, I guess all the fish that have been caught out of my friend's Bullet don't either. As for keeping the boat on a river, stream, or smaller city lake...I guess that is one alternative. Another might be to actually learn how to drive it.

Wait... there is one problem with a Bullet. The livewells are black!!! This makes culling difficult in the day time. Can't see the fish... that's honestly my only qualm. Bullets do fine in big water, any boat will YOU JUST HAVE TO SLOW DOWN. So many guys I see always think they have to hammer down on the throtle and run through 3 footers it boggles my mind. Just slow down and a bath tub will have a smooth dry ride. That's the key to running big water, use angles and slow down!

i am obviously biased in my opinion as i own a 1990 Comp Hull Bullet. it weighs 995 pounds and has a 270hp engine on it.
It is not the raised deck model, nor is the extended deck model. I have plenty of room for all my junk in the boat. My best friend owns a new Puma. I actually like his best for fishing in the wind. since his weighs 700 pounds more it doesn't blow around as much as mine. I like the rough water ride in mine better!! yes, so does he. The 21xrd out rides any boat i've ever been in. And yes, i've been in dang near every boat ever made.
of course their are pro's and con's to the bullet versus other boats.
mine is now 18yrs old. show me another boat that looks as good as mine that's that old. and mine sat out in the open with NO cover for 4 years before i bought it! i have a 12" jack plate, this transom is as tough as the day it was NEW! show me another boat that can claim that. maybe a bass cat..."maybe"
the fact is "if you like speed and very good rough water handling, and good fishability, buy the bullet" if you want a heavy boat and don't care about going fast, buy something else.

Steve,
Thanks for the Input. I have found a boat that I am going to look at today. Now I will have to find a buyer for my 201 pro. I will probably stop by your location if I get it to get your thoughts, and May be you could help me with a setup.
