Hey, I have posted this stuff several years. Mine don't have the ballast in the tube, that way I can run them above water.

Do a search of my name and look at the stuff. PM if you need help! I have no idea where Crappie Chaser got his info. But I have made a dozen of these things and own 5 for myself!

Report from green light from fishing Friday 5-16-08 night at Ray Roberts.... Light worked great, was fully waterproofed and brought in alot of minnows... I put one of my store bought ones that's around 7 inches long of light beside my 48 inch light, and obviously no comparison.... The new light lit up the entire area and kicked butt on bringing in the minnows. The fishing finder showed minnows everywhere underneath boat.... Fishing was fair, not too great, partly due to cold front moving in I believe...There were only a few boats out fishing bridge, and didn't see anyone else really catching.... This time of year the bridge should be stacked with boats, but not last night.... We caught 20-30 fish, mix of crappie and sandies, had around 8 keepers... A lot of undersized last night, almost every one of them was under.... but they were biting pretty good....Green light was a success, can't wait to see what it does when the fish are really on! smile

Light is pretty easy to put together, but the parts and everything that goes into will easily run $90-$100 to accumulate.... Beltonbanger put out another post with tips on how to build... The only difference with mine is that I enclose the ballast inside the light with a seperate piece of pvc, and cut holes in it to ventilate so it doesn't get too hot... Worked just fine for the 4 hours or so we tried it last night....and again no comparison to the store bought smaller ones I usually use....

Fished the bridge last night at Ray Hubbard. Quite a few boats tied under the bridges. We had regular crappie lights with 1 submergeable white light. There were 2 boats with green lights near us. We could not attract any bait fish with our white ones. The greens definately stole the show. One boat in particular had a 35 ft halo around it, dont know how big their green light was, but it was awesome. They were definately catching more fish. We manged 17 keepers mostly sand bass and 1 keeper Crappie 11in. I am sold on going green!

If I put 3 or 4 out it looks like a small city!!! Bad thing is I only get @4-5 hours out of the battery.
