I have fished out of one numerous times, and I disagree. To me, they fish just like any other bass boat I have been in, at least from the back deck. And, the front deck on my friend's 22 footer is immense.

The one thing I don't like about them has already been mentioned...that being that you have to pull the passenger and driver's seats up to open the back storage boxes. I think that is an example of a poorly thought out design.

True that!! There are lots of things to consider than how it rides in a 3' chop. Storage, deck size, transom, fishability in rough water, weatherveining, re-sale, engineering in the hull etc...........

My boat (non Bullet) tops out in the Mid 70s and that sure is fast enough for me. If you're not heavily in the market for pure speed, my guess is there are much better choices. Just my uneducated impression as I've never ridden in a Bullet. Just what I've heard second hand from experienced guys.

I agree about having to move the seats forward, wonder why they have never changed that?
I disagree with the lack of storage and the one thing I really miss was the center section in front where I used to store my rod and reels. I used the rod boxes on each side for my tackle etc. but put my rod and reels in the center section. What other boat can you line up 15 rod and reels next to each other and not on top of one another?
The other thing I miss about the Bullet was the ease in getting in and out of the boat. My Ranger with the rounded fender wells and higher sides make it a lot harder to get in and out. When you start getting my age things like that make a difference.

Anyone who says Bullets can't handle rough water doesn't know how to drive one, or has never been in one. I have video of my 20Xrd in 5 ft swells on Tawakoni prefishing for Bass Champs last year if you want to see how they really handle big water, check out youtube tawakoni basschamp 07. They are also the best built bass boats on the planet because they only build so many a year, unlike the other mass manufactured Tritons or Skeeters. Everything about a Bullet is quality, they have good storage, they fish good, and you can run one up on a fence post and not poke a hole in the hull, and they hold their value. The only thing bad about a bullet is you have to actually learn how to drive them because they have so much lift, but that comes with experience. Once people own one, its hard for them to switch boat brands and own anything else.

It doesn't matter how you find the pot of gold, all that matters is that you beat the leprachaun.

PS: Skeeter invented the bass boat, they have been in business for 60 years and there is not a better all around bass boat-both with ride in rough water and fishability. Plus they stand behind their product and they are made in TEXAS.

I have owned a Bullet for 3 years and everyone always tells me that man I bet that thing rides rough. I have a 20xd and to be totally honest it rides better in rough water (1 to 2.5' waves) than any other boat I have been in at that length. Now if the waves get bigger its a different story. But I dont think its any worse than any other boat for rough water. It is not a dry ride by any means. On the other hand I have been told the 21 footer is the best hands down and it will be my next boat. If you ever own a bullet it will be really hard to switch brands. I THINK MOST PEOPLE MAKE UP THAT THEY RIDE ROUGH BECAUSE THEY NEED SOME KIND OF EXCUSE FOR YOU BLOWING PAST THEM WHEN THEY TOOK OFF 2 MINUTES EARLIER. LMAO It is a harder boat to drive than any other I have driven. It takes alot of seat time and practice but the rewards are worth it. My boat will run 88 mph loaded to fish with 2 guys any day of the week. Ive seen 90mph several times. Ride in one and you will understand.

I don't know why we Bullet owners waste our time trying to convince others that it's an all around bad arse fishing machine. Who cares if they don't want to get one! It's funny how evryone will stare your boat down as your idling past them.

I drool over them every time I see one on the water. The problem is that I would end up killing myself in it if I bought one.

About 2 months after buying mine, I threw one of the new 28 pitch Bravo props from Merc on there and almost killed myself. I had one of the techs with me from Marine outlet and I don't know how he kept his @ss in the seat. That prop is flat out scary on a Bullet 20, I hit 87.5 in the rain with full tank of gas and all my gear with a 225. It lifted the WHOLE boat above water, the trophy I run on there now leaves just the lip of the back pad in. I made a pass from Cedar Ridge to Roger's and was FLYING... I dropped out of it and that's when we got into trouble. I can laugh about it now but my knuckles were white for the next three days... I put my trophy back on after that and cruised at a comfortable 80mph for a couple weeks. lol
