depending on the depth that your starting with if you have 20' of string going down i say drop any where from 12 to 15 and use a 1lb weight just to hold it where it's at in the mean time, but if you dont want it to move use a heavier weight that a fish cant move from a shallow part of the water. hey vern that sounds like a plan get with me on the details we'll meet up or we'll figure something out.
please tell me that it's fish:30 already..i need my fix!!!

I like a bigger float myself. I like em to be big enough to easily float a 1 pound weight. I make mine out of the big noodles and sleve em with PVC pipe, so the bass fisherman can't destroy em in one pass.

I'm not sure what the deal is with the noodles. I don't use them. Maybe I am all messed up on the way I made mine, I don't know but they seem to work pretty good. All I did was take 2 1/2" White PVC cut it 18" long, capped it at both ends put a eye bolt in one of the caps put on approx 25' of main line. come up 3' placed a 12" leader with a hook, came up 6' from the first leader placed another 12" leader with hook. have approx 2lb weight on the very bottom. Have reflective tape on them also. Made 10 of them and can adjust them for fishing in shallow water fairly easy. Should I be using noodles? Does the noodles work better?

2" pvc, 2' long. i wrap 50' of 1/8" braided nylon and use those trotline clip with 6" stagings that way i can set the hooks to what ever depth i want/need to fish. i use 16oz cups full of concrete for weights

www.juglinestore.com has the best design I have seen. All the way from the rigging to the construction of the float. The site is temporarily not taking orders for some reason.

Bluetcat,
Do you mind posting a pic or two of your pipe jugs? I like the idea of the slim design. Only being 2" wide, I could pack a ton in milk crates. I'm limited for space in my kayak. Thanks.

20 would be enough.
Anybody ever use the Stike King Jugs? I saw a couple at Wally World today for $3.47 a piece. They eve come with line a weight and a hook, although I'd change the hook for sure.
