Can you please share what type hat you are using to protect yourself from the sun. A link to whatever you have found would be great.

Thanks

I have a Cabela's GoreTex boonie hat. Very comfortable and waterproof. $20-25. Would recommend it.

Was a boonie hat from Sportsman Warehouse. It is in Ray Bob now. Blew off my head yesterday while fishing from the bank. If found please return. Last seen floating extremely fast N. bound.

I use the broadbrim hat from Academy, back where the Magellan shirts and pants are located. Get the one with the really stiff brim, so that it doesn't flop around so much when you are on plane.
It's not a straw hat, its cloth and has a leather chin strap.

I tried to post a photo, but I gave up, I guess I'm just a failure!

I 2nd the straws from Academy, the ones with the draw string so you can cinch down tight. Pretty inexpensive and I think I'm stylin' on the lake.

At least my boat and truck are paid for, woo hoo!

I use a straw from BPS and also a hat from these folks,http://sundayafternoons.com/, its very light and has excellent coverage. Its worth the price to me. Good Luck

fishn-man,
Not for sure if you are boat fishing or not. But if you are bank fishing, beside my usual baseball hat, walmart has some cheap umbrellas that you can buy. I think for like 20 bucks. A stand for the umbrella also cost about the same. It really does help out better than just a hat. Also, when the sun starts to go down, you can also get on the internet a cheap mosquito net that slips over the top of the umbrella and it keeps them darn pest away also. so a double use on the umbrella.
