I am hoping some of you knowlegable people can help me out. I just bought a 1997 Challenger Radical One bass boat. The boat is in prestine condition and looks virtually brand new. This thing runs like a top. During the test drive, we got it up to 62mph. Anyways, I dont know anything about Challenger. I have tried researching it online but all I get are boats for sale. Does anyone know anything about this boat company? I am pretty sure they are no longer made but I was just wondering if anyone knew anything on them. Thanks for your time and I look forward to any feedback.

Thanks,
Lumpy

I think the factory burned down and If my memory serves me the owner pasted away shortly there after. he was a very nice man. I visited with him at various fishing shows.

Thats interesting. Do you remember his name by any chance? I would like to do some research on this creator. The man I bought the boat from only bought Challenger boats and talked very highly of them. Would you say that the Challenger boat ranked in the class with Ranger, Skeeter, etc... or is more in the catagory of Sprint, Phantom, etc...?

Thanks,
Lumpy

I think the mans name who owned it last was Louis Delhome.

Delhome was a big dealer in Houston, they built them to compete against the other budget boats at the time, nitro, travis with sprint, etc.

I would say they are in the same class as Skeeter, Nitro, Sprint.

Lumpy, I have a '97 Radical one also. Have a bass boat review from bassmaster magazine, Boat racer Buster Dobbs established Challenger Boats in 1969 as a boat for working fishermen as he felt the major manufacturers had outpriced themselves. Hope that helps.
