I'm not new too the site but I'm new to the posts. I would just like too vent about people not respecting when im on a school and they drive up with no trolling motor, throw thier anchor down and swing right onto where I've been fishing for two hours.I know it sounds superficial but My wife and I were were on the fish and had no choice but move without altercation, so thats what we did !!! What do ya'll think!

This topic is like discussing abortion, illegal immigration, religion, and the death penalty all together... That happened to me today, twice. I just let it go.. It is not my lake or fish, I just go find more fish.

It happens to us all. The warmer it gets the more we see. Today I just smiled and acted like it never happened and kept catching. Like Mando said just find more fish and you will soon forget.

I used to think the same thing but, I think it is just think the do not know any better. On Sunday on Ray Bob we had a colorful duo in a ski tow boat radio blasting trolling among us who were fishing the birds. In the 30 or so minutes they did this they never caught one sand bass.

We also encountered the red Falcon... Well I will let P220 fill you in on that one.

If things go as planned this year and the Lewisville top water gets like it ws two years ago, it will look like the Spanish Armada making it way to Great Britain. I remember two years ago I saw a young kid piloting their ski boat so their dad's could fish... and then there was the "Blue Lady" in the tri-hull.

Yes it happens all the time. A few things that help. Do not act like it is your first fish. Do not hold the rod tip high showing the bow in it. Do not make a big deal about netting the fish, and when netted get it in the bottom of the boat ASAP. Do not hold the fish up so that other boaters/fisherman can see it. Do not give out the big "high fives". Always remember others are watching and some of them have a pair of bino's so to see farther. And one last thing remember, there are lurkers/potlickers on this forum. Never give out where,when, and with what you were catching fish unless you want company. If someone wants to know let them ask. Then send the answer via pm.

Some folks are just inconsiderate, but then It's a public lake. It will only get worst as the weather warms up. Gonna have to start fishing at night.

You guys are right, this isn't my first rodeo but this has happened to me in last few trips. Maybe I will fish at night.

That's the main reason you'll seldom find me in a boat show......unless I was there first or I'm potlickin Swiperstriker. Lot's of fish and lot's of spots on the lake where we can fish in peace.

luv to fish, I've just recently started seriously fishing for sandys and the 4 or 5 times I've been out so far, it never fails, some yahoo comes trolling right through with his main motor going where I'm trying to fish . Not much you can do but keep on fishing. And Welcome to the TFF, it's a great place for info and venting .

well, I too asked about what to do..alas...some people don't have a clue! I feel your pain. It's tough when this happens to you. Not alot you can do, keep fishing or move to a new spot.
It's a shame we can't send these clods to fishing school and teach them to be a true sportman and respect for others!!!! As there are safety issues too. Not alot of folks want to teach these ignortant clods any better...so what do you do????nothing??? Well there is no real recourse, I am afraid. I feel your pain.

I try to inflict some pain back! It's funny cause sometimes they pull up and they dont catch a single fish all the while I'm pullin in two at a time! I just laugh, throw my slab/teaser right under the nose of their boat, and catch the fish under thier boat. Once all the fun and games are over and they are leaving I politely tell them thanks for the fish! Sometimes I think to myself, they have to be feeling like a dumb a$$! lol...

Kmoran and I were on what was probably the best sandbass bite I've ever been on back in January on Lewisville. Great sandbass bite in January? Has Buddha lost it? No, it was great because every fish we were catching was over 1.5#'s, the biggest went nearly 3....Anyway while we're in the middle of this with another boat that was minding his manners here comes two idiots in a ski boat. They ran right into the school we were fishing and since they didn't have a trolling motor proceeded to throw out an anchor...right into our schooling fish. I couldn't restrain myself.....Up to that point we had boated 21 fish and like I said all of 'em 1.5# and up. We didn't catch another fish either.

Moral of the story?

You can't fix stupid!

As for having lurkers and potlickers seek you out... For every one TFF poster I meet on the lake I must meet 3-4 lurkers, so I say if you do not want folks to find your spots, do not post anything... Anything online, but like I said in the earlier post, it is not my lake or fish, and only good things come to those who share.

As for the inconsiderate people on the lake, that is just a fact of life, if I let it get to me it will ruin my fishing.
