i am looking to spend under 200 bucks for a few new reels what are yalls suggestions? i have a few ideas on what i might get just wanted yalls input.

HOw much under? $199 you can get the Revo Inshore or the STX both good reels(I like the inshore better). You can get a Curado with the rebate(I think that ends this month so hurry) for about 150 or you cant go wrong with the Daiwa HSTA for $159.

Another vote for the Revo STX or the Daiwa 153HSTA.

then my g/f started getting into fishing also so i am going to get her one good rod/reel. something with a compact design preferably.

Quantum makes a pretty good combination for younger folks or the "height and arm reach challenged". They have baitcasters, open faced spinning and spin cast models. Academy has them and theymight be worth checking out for your g/f.
