I do not think Royce said it was acceptable, he just said it is a fact of life on the lakes and getting all huffed-up about it is only going to ruin your day.

Like he mentioned come to Lewisville, Benbrook, or Joe Pool one weekend once it hits 80 and you will have a different view.

A fisherman here recently almost had a couple of Eastern-Europeans pile thier boat on his, I hear it was a really close call.

Royce,

Hey I don't mind sharing AT ALL, its the taking over and scattering the fish that really bugs me...I think ANY lake people should have good sportsmanship and be considerate, I do have a captain's license and some of these folks are in violation of boating rules. Royce you can't tell me that if you are on the fish and some clod races up and scatter the fish and almost dumps you in the lake do to the wake that it makes your day??? All I am saying is use your commond sense...

I don't think Royce is the problem. I also didn't read anywhere that he APPROVED of this behavior. I think you need to take a chill pill and lay off a bit. If these "idiots" get you that riled up, maybe you should take up a different hobby.

boy you guys just miss the point...I didn't say I let it ruin my day...I just want to know why people can't learn to good sportsman? I am not huffy....I just don't like my kids having to hang on for dear life while fishing. And excepting of bad behavior is one reason the problem exits! Boating class would be in order. Come on guys, how do you change things if you just accept them as normal?? that sad. As I have shared many a spot with good people that respect the sport...

I love fishing of all kinds and I know there are idiots every where on the water at all lakes...but that doesn't make it right my buddy! So hey don't think you know my thoughts..I never dreamed people would get so offend if they were good sports? hum"

Miss Manners no one said you were a bad person and I do see your point, however, it is moot to try and enforce boating ethincs on the water.

With all opinions set aside we would love to have you at the TXSBHA tournament on RC this weekend.

I must say, something really got off track here. I have no idea who Miss Manners is nor do I really care. However, I do know that RC has a group of the best all around guides of any of the major lakes in Texas. You will not find a better group, Royce, Adam, Mark and Bob are all quality people and guides. This is not to say there are not good guides on other lakes. I just happen to know ALL the regular guys on RC and they are a Great group of guys.

Yes, and Royce is correct. I mainly fish RC and Ray Hubbard and there is no comparison in the number of people that run into and or through the fish when they are up. I love both lakes for the fishing, but if you want to have less of the stupid stuff RC is the better lake. And on the weekend I try not to say on Ray Hubbard past about 11am. After that forget it. If the jet skiiers don't get you, the speed boaters will.

Well now, Rubin, don't get your feathers in a ruffle. You know I wasn't talking about you. You also know the people I am talking about. As I recall I almost never see you out on Ray Hubbard on the weekend in the summer. Besides if I was to only fish RC I couldn't follow the yellow Tahoe around (I have to follow it because I've never been asked to fish in it). And who will tow me in when I break down? No, I love both lakes, but Royce is still correct. I don't think I've ever seen a cigar boat or anything like one on RC. Go out to Ray Hubbard on the weekend and you'll get an up close and personal look at one of these types of boats sooner or later.

am I the only one that thinks this is rude?
Yes

Sorry about that buddy, that should have read no, yea that kind of stuff is no good. That's the exact reason I do not fish Joe Pool durring the summer. I'm on the same page as you.

But the times I fish RC I rarely see that stuff, not saying it does not happpe because I know it does.

Just wanted to clarify that, just realized my 2nd grade grammer mistake cheers

And no I would never do that, been done to me a few time but I would not do that, and when it does happen I will just move to another spot.

RC is a great lake.

Good-luck

Marc

Mark Parker turned me and my son on to lineside fishing a few years back when my son was on leave. He was an absolute great person and an even better guide. Willing to share information and techniques. I have fished most of the lakes around the metroplex since and have seen all kinds of behavior. As XYZ said it is a moot point to argue behaviors of others. Yeah it gets under your skin when someone shows inconsideration. If a law is broken and lives are put into danger a cell phone works out much better than retaliation. Rudeness and inconsiderate actions can be left behind in your wake and other productive places gone to on just about any lake. My $.02

I agree but you had better have a video camera on your boat as well--I tried to report someone whos actions were putting people in danger. Since they were buddies with the officer--the "good ole boys" rule came into effect and it was swept under the rug. You government working for you! smile Right!
