OK, If you had up to $50,000.00 to spend and without a lot of, I'm a Chevy, Ford, Dodge, etc... Which tow vehicle would you buy, the way you want it, but staying under or at the $50,000.00? You are buying this tow vehicle to pull your 18' up to 21' fiberglass bassboat, single axle, or tandem, your choice. Motor size anywhere from 150 hp to 300 hp. Let's see which vehicle most bass fisherman would buy with $50,000.00. If you want you can list your options. This should give some of our truck dealer TFF'ers some insight, don't you think?

i would go with the sterling bullet or dodge hd 450 or 550. the sterling mainly because it's different. you can get a taller gear in the rearend than you can get in the f450 and f550's. the only options i would get would be the electric windows and locks, and tilt w/cruise. vinyl floors for less maintenance and easy cleaning. put the single wheel conversion on the rear to run a supersingle tire. cover the seats in neoprene with custom logo. put the dvd's in the headrest for kid's. custom flatbed with side boxes and be able to put slide in camper. fab 4 front bumper with winch. then when i had the money put a lift on it. this truck should be able to do whatever i need it to. it will be a little bit heavy, but it should work just fine. another option would be to put a factory dually bed on it with ranchhand headache rack and rails, bed slider or packrat and a crossbox deep and wide version. there would also be a onboard compressor, inverter, portable welder. oh to dream

I have the Mercedes ML430 SUV to pull my 19' stratos. If i bought a new truck it would be the BMW X5, to tow my boat. I'm sure you guys will appreciate that.

I would keep my 99 F250 4x4 with 7.3 and just buy fuel tires and brakes for a long while. Over 50K that is another story!!

I would go with a Chevy, or GMC extended cab pickup, 1 / 2 to 3 / 4 ton. It would be white, and be the mid-range trim package. I would put a bed lid on it, white too. Im not sure that I would go 4x4, but would for sure have a limited slip differential. Tan interior.
I would get a very nice factory sound system, but nothing after-market.
White is good to keep the cab cool in the summer. The extend cab is easier to cool in the summer, and heat in the winter, less volume than a four-door, or SUV. Id go with a mid-size V-8, something between 5 and 6 liters.
I would do NOTHING to sharpen it up. Id keep it pretty plain, as that would make it less of a target for thieves. Boring and bland is good.

I would just buy another dodge. After owning 3 powerstrokes I have been real impressed with the dodge. Oh by the way.... I will be asking for a diesel allowance next year.....MR. C.A.S.T.

That's easy 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche 2500...Then I'd take the remaining balance and buy another Saturn wagon to save on the gas.

For that size boat, a 1/2 ton will do just fine. Anything more is overkill. Tundra or Chevy is my choice. With the money you save you can get lot's of goodies for your boat. Although I do drive a 2007.5 Duramax. That's about 50K.
