I never had a problem with my Ranger "1" series. The dealer is as important a decision as the boat you buy. I've never had a problem with my dealer.

Agree with Jeff. One that is paid for. The best case is to find a used boat, preferably less than 5 years old, with an engine that still has warranty. Let the original owner take the depreciation hit and you still get the warranty coverage.

My last three boats, all being late models and all 21', Skeeter, Triton and currently Z21 Ranger w/ HPDI 250 as far as total package its the Ranger by far best boat ive been in since stick steering. Like a lot of people said its what fits you best that is best.

Buy a Champion, all others sink. I have a 20' Champion and the ride is 2nd to none, But a family member bought a New legend 211 with a 250 Merc pro xs and it is pretty awesome. I've only been in it once and it was calm so I don't know how it is in rough water. But I do know how a Champion is in rough water DRY!!!

I fish out of a 99 Champion 171, that I bought new from Fun N Sun. Great little boat, good ride in rough water. Has a 125 Merc that just sips gas, which is nice in this day and age. Best part is, it is paid for. I would not own another brand of boat, it has been great from the beginning, and so far has never let me down. My motto has always been, " The fish do not know how big your boat is." I fish once or twice a week so it gets alot of use. Cant say enough good things about it.

" The fish do not know how big your boat is." The fish might not know it but the 20-30mph Ray Roberts winds do. (not knocking anything, I just couldnt help it)
