Fished with a buddy today that told me he has not received an issue in 3 months. Paid his subscription and got one magazine and then no more. His emails to catfish gold have gone unanswered.

I got on here to check into it and notice that all of the "pro staff" have removed the catfish gold link from their signature?

Is this supposed "great" magazine that everyone defended so much now defunct and just stealing peoples money?

I was wondering the same thing. I paid for my subscription in January and haven't seen anything but the money leave my account. I asked a person that used to be a "pro staffer" and received no reply, my thoughts are that they may be under a gag order of some kind. I was not going to post the question in the general forum, because I wanted to give them a chance. BUT, since you opened the bag, here come the worms....

I have been wondering the same thing, it has been 2 or 3 months since I have got one!

I know the people involved w/ the magazine do watch this forum, I only hope they chime in. No more excuses, just give us the real reasons. Someone fess up as to why the magazine has not put out an issue this year yet?

Since I had not received an issue since December, I emailed Luke Clayton. He responded and told me that as of Dec. he was no longer with Catfish Gold. He referred me to Richard Chrisman who is apparently now the owner/publisher. Mr. Clayton gave me an email address richard.chrisman@sbcglobal.net. I emailed Mr. Chrisman last week but have received no reply as of yet.

I HAVE ALSO CONTACTED AN ASSISTANT AT "Catfish Gold" TWICE IN THE LAST TWO WEEKS AND HAVE RECEIVED NO REPONSE. I ALSO NOTICED THAT LUKE CLAYTON HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM CATFISHGOLD.COM (THANK YOU DanV FOR THE INFO!).

I WONDER WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON?!?

Well this just be a lesson learned. When a magazine is named Catfish Gold and only has 15 pages of catfishin articles in a eighty page magazine, you ain't gettin what you bought anyways. My subscription ends next month so I ain't got burnt too bad.

This magazine morphed into a huntin magazine a long time ago. I don't hunt so wuzn't gonna re-new anyways.

My buddy Skeeterbite said he has not recived and issue as well.

They sure didn't have a problem cashing my check I sent them 3 months ago. Still haven't received anything yet.

My wife bought me a subscription to Catfish Gold for Christmas, received one issue and nothing since. I had this feeling that they had gone belly up. Would have been nice to have received a "sorry about that" letter from their staff.

I do know Richard only cares about fishing and mainly catfishing. I do know Luke really likes hunting and this is the second Catfishing publication he has been involved with that is no longer around. Just makes me wonder.

No comment from bobbycatfishing, terrybrother and bigfishing the "prostaff" that defended them so last time I got called out for asking questions about their publication?

If you look in the front of your Catfish Gold Mag. Style Publishing Group out of Frisco is the publisher. I contacted them at 972-335-1181 and they gave me Richard's phone number. I spoke to him and he said that he has been fighting a staff infection and they are also having money problems, that is the reason the mag has not been published since December 2007. He did say that they are currently working on two issues right now and hopefully will have them out in the next week or two. That was 3 weeks ago. He also has bought Danny King's Punch Bait. And they are currently experimenting with the formula.
So if you have been trying to contact either one of these companies this is what has been going on.
The thing that got me is that he said that Catfish Gold was a hobby for him. ?????
