you can catch and give away as many as you want...the law reads "POSESSION LIMIT" 25 FISH. PER PERSON PER DAY. POSESSION MEANS HOW MANY YOU HAVE ON YOUR PERSONAL STRINGER AT A GIVEN TIME.

IM SORRY THE POSESSION LIMIT IS ACTUALLY 2X THE DAILY LIMIT. SO AGAIN WHAT'S IS IT THATS ILLEGAL ABOUT CATCHING 50 FREAKING SANDBASS, AND KEEPING 25. IF THATS THE CASE I'D BEEN IN HANDCUFFS YEARS AGO.

wouldnt advise doing it in front of the warden. maybe i ought to stand next to tarpon and he will give me a limit. maybe someone can get an official answer from the game warden. i dunno

I think the key phrase here would be this:
NO WRD is required if a person receiving the wildlife resource does not exceed the possession limit (exception: see Migratory Game Birds - Documentation).

AS LONG AS YOU DONT HAVE MORE THAN 25 FISH ON YOUR STRINGER OR HIDDEN SOMEWHERE....YOURE FINE. THEY DONT CARE HOW MANY YOU CATCH OR GIVE AWAY OR THROW BACK...THEY CARE HOW MANY YOU PUT IN THE BASKET.

i think us guys that fished in texoma follow that particular rule. i believe that when you catch a fish and give it away, it is considered a catch for you. correct me if i'm wrong but this past year when i was fishing at texoma i couldn't give away 5 stripers and keep 5 for myself that same day.
