Threw my lure out with the current and foul hooked a 10 pound red ear turtle in the back foot. Pulled it in and because I used suffix performance braid in 10/4 got it to the side before the hook pulled free.

The whites are there you just have to beat the crouds to the right place. I have limited out 3 out of the last 4 days. You just have to get away from the people. I wil not say where I have been fishing but I will give everyone the bait rooster tails if it sunny. The fish are alot bigger than the last 2 years. I think the floods last year helped the fish size alot. I was probably 3 to 1 keepers with the average keeper 11 1/2. Which is good for granger Here is the main thing you have to think about. This place gets more fishing presure than anywhere else I have ever seen. I would bet that 250 or more people are there on saturday alone. With this many people fishing such a small area there are going to be very few limits coming out.
From the females I cleaned "which were 1 female to every 4 male" There is at least a week or 2 weeks left.

I wont fish circleville again. The fish are way too small and too many people. If you want to go get your limit on 10" whites at 5am then its for you. Id rather catch 1/2 my limit on 12-15" whites anyday.
Ok, Im off my soap box.

The bite is on fire down there right now.I fished for 6 hours today and I caught 156 fish. About 10 were small blacks, and maybe 20 to 25 were crappie. Over all, I would have to call this an awesome day. Yesterday I took my daughter and I caught something like 40 to 50 whites. What more can I say, it is on fire down there.

Its official. The Speckrig is now my go to lure. Had no idea you could slay crappie and white bass on the same lure for reds and trout!

Ok...the mods might as well delete this thread because apparently, no one fishes it anymore. Not a single post in almost 7 days? What happened?

I went out to the steps yesterday and the people next to me a half an hour before and they had about a total of 20 on their stringer. They also caught a small channel cat, a lot of perch and a 20lb carp

Spawn fishing is over. You can still catch good crappie in the main river. Only thing being caught anywhere near the steps are small fish with very few 12" plus fish. If you like catching 5" to 8" fish there are still some there.

Sorry, but this thread went to page 9 quick. Nothing in the river? What about closer to the lake?
It's been slow for me - lots of tiny whites, which was weird because between February and April, I hardly caught ANY undersized fish at Granger. I'm just curious if people are still getting a few in Willis or the San Gabe at this point.
