Just got back from the steps. I caught 7, with 1 crappie and 6 whites. There were a ton of people there, the most ive seen in a while. A group of three guys had a stringer of about 60 not sure how long they were there, but had a mix of whites and crappie.

We fished the main lake last night with little to show for it. Looks like we should have tried the slews...

So is this run gonna happen? Has it happened? Or is this just a weird year? i think it may start up very good after the water calms down and clears up. and with about 2-3 days of warm weather by Thursday or Friday it should be good. it i skinda a wierd year. last year the run started around the 1st of March (most places around here)

fished san gabriel/granger at the steps this morning for 3 hours. water has come down some more but the water is still a little dirty. I was able to catch several whites, mostly males in 12" range. I have not been back to tejas/georgetown since the rain, have they started running there? I went two weeks ago and the low water bridge seemed to be stopping any whites from running upstream

I was on the SG upstream from dickerson's bottom and between the 95 bridge. My girlfriend, son, and I, together, caught and released close to 25 or so 6" and 8 inchers. We caught and kept 14 keepers. the largest was 15". I brought the fish home and cleaned them. while doing so I noticed 3 of the smaller fish were the females 11" - 12". the 15 incher was male. A person fishing down from us informed me he saw 2 or 3 people come out of the SG with 30 or 4 fish Saturday. Any one fishing this weekend see a lot of "keeper" sized fish being caught? I'm with yellowcat in believing we still may get another good short run in the SG soon.
Shut up and fish!

Catchnrelease I was there last friday and saw 3 guys that had all together 50 keepers +. I hope to get in some more fishing there soon. Thanks for the info. I love the SG. It is beautiful there. It would be great for all the fishermen (people) to pick up their sh*t after themselves. Lots of trash there. Didn't feel like lugging everyone's trash out and try to fish at the same time. We picked up some trash, but it would take an all-out effort to pick up trash instead of fish. I'd rather fish, but I'll do my part to help. I'll be back soon. Going to Sommerville for one last time.
Shut up and fish!

A friend and I went to Willis Creek(near the county road) this afternoon for a couple of hours. Only one other truck there. Kept 14, 11 to 14 inch whites. Caught several undersized blacks and whites. Using minnows and jigs(most caught on jigs). All of the whites were males except for one. Planning on trying them again in the morning.

Went to the steps yesterday and caught lots of small stuff. Between two of us we caught around 25 fish but only 2 keepers. The water color is getting better though.

Fished down river from the steps at the first bend this morning till 10:15. Caught 5 keepers with the smallest being 12" . Caught several very small ones. Either the run is done or they have gone way upstream with the increased flow from the rains last week. Either way, did not see many caught. Even the minnow guys were having trouble. Did hook about a 10 pound red ear in the foot. Thought I fouled a buffalo for a second. Anyways the run may be done. Any other reports would be appreciated.

I think it's still on - they seem to be up pretty far looking for current. I've had my best days of the year in the past week at Granger. I really think that you can catch them in the river until May.
