Much props to Tarponfly on saturday morning at rowlett creek. I had some good eatin! Fish is descaled and gutted. I eat the Roe. Season the whole fish with Salt and Pan fry in veggie oil on medium high heat. This is asian style cooking, we dont eat the heads or bones but leave them on. Only eat this way with Chopsticks and a bowl of rice. The idea is to lock all of the fishes flavors in by keeping the bone and heads intact. Now this is only for bass since the bass skin is not fatty or fishy tasting. The skin when pan friend becomes very cripsy layer and taste awsome!

Ah, so that's how you cook them. I tried filleting, I'm pretty new, so I only had a handful of meat. I caught my first Sand Bass out of the creek on Saturday. I had my two little girls out there, so I couldn't keep fishing a good spot by the gun range. They just wanted to play in the rapids area (aka the fun flat place).

I usually just throw mine back. I cant stand picking fish bones out of food. I like nice boneless filets.

caught 7 in an hour in one place on green lure. then they stopped and tried another spot and caught 0 there in 30 minutes.mostly males
saw a 5 foot AT LEAST snake on a trail north of firewheel . my foot was about a foot from his head. moved back quick. luckily he didnt bite but i hightailed it back towards the bridge and quick. usually see very few snakes out there. guess he was enjoying the heat.
