Oh and somerville is a ways from here. Will they still be biting there 1st two weeks in April? I have training at the Fire fields in College Station so it would be a good chance to try these "twice as big" fish!

Wow I got popular quick. I'm not going to tell everyone exactly where I caught them, but I will tell you there isnt anything worth while above the lower water crossing bridge about 1.8 miles in. I dont even think there will be much above the bridge this year. Sadly the bridge is mostly blocked with debris from the flood. I did see one nice white caught in the hole above the bridge. It was in the neighbor hood of 3 or 4 lbs. I think the main problem there is a lack of water flow. I spent about 2 hours scouting a good spot to fish once I realized this. Take your time, pay attention to where other people are. There are still several good spots to fish around Tejas.

Ok i went this morning and got skunked. Walked to low water and started fishing there. Fishing above it is pointless as they cant get under it anymore as Dubbya said, its blocked. Even if they did, there is small rapids right above it that is too shallow. I walked down the N side till the rocks stopped and didnt have but one bite. I think i know where you caught your crappie Dub, but they werent there today or werent biting. I paid attention to foot prints! If you go on the N side, look for where i got stuck in the dam quick sand!! IMO, the majority of whites will stay on main lake wind blown points from the lack of flow in the river. The rain did nothing at all. Good luck, if you want to save yourself a long walk, go to Granger.

I get confused when reading this post. Seems to be going back and forth between Tejas and Circleville. Maybe it is just me. Who knows. trenthuntin - which are you referring to?

Bump! Anyone do any fishing yesterday? Seems like the weather is warming up a bit. It looks like CR 347 will be very busy this weekend. I plan on getting out there before sunup. Anyone know what time the Exxon closes on Friday night?

All females? Sounds like you had fun. I imagine it was pretty chilly this morning. Live bait or artificial?
Shut up and fish!
