I hope this post is not a hijack; it does relate to how buffs bite, so I hope it's okay.
A few weeks ago I fished at a lake that probably has buffalo. Once, when I heard my alarm bleep, I looked at the rod tip and saw that it was bending ever so slightly in the direction of my bait. I picked up the rod and set the hook, but nothing was there. Could that possible have been a buff? (I was fishing at long range with a bolt rig and 15-pound Big Game, if that matters.)

Very cool Chad!! I don't think I have seen a body of water that calm in months. I sent the link to some friends who wish to get into carpin/buffin. Your vid, shows how one person can handle the rods, net, camera and the fish (with respect) and do it without falling all over the place in a panic mode. Well done. Thanks for sharing!
