Technology does progress fast. I remember getting my 997 last April- it was the first time in my life I had the top of the line, new technology gadget before most others. I was too excited. Imagine my dissapointment 3 months later while walking through BPS, and I saw an 1197 unit!! I guess the grass is always greener. . .

I have good luck on calm days going around 6-7mph with the engine trimmed high. On days when the boat is rocking, slower is key.

I have found all of everyones brushpiles and caught all of the fish from them so you need to build more so i can find them also. It only took one pass and two minutes to weed out the bad ones.

Jay Leno needs to take some lessons from the Crappie Forum guys.
I could use my Discover Card to buy a Sidefinder. My tombstone would read, "Here Bill lies with a Sidefinder and GPS coordinates for his friends. He was OK till he got home and his wife found his monthly statement."

Well buddy I will be the one hanging out after grave side services to put your side finder to use no worries on the GPS Coordinates as we both have the same coordinates.
Looks like your doing what I am doing today: rainy day + cold + dreaming about fishing = TFF

Does anyone have some recent SI pictures they would like to share with the TFF, No Coordinates. I am interested in a comparison of the best resolution range lets say 35ft to the side, 70ft to the side or 140ft to the side of the same piece of structure. Does the system wash out after a certain range?

Check out http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sideimaging/ Get registered and look at the photos within that group. Don't know yet if it will improve my catch rate (but I sure think so, else I would not have bought it). I'm very impressed with it so far (very impressed)!

Mark,
I have joined that group and looked at thier info. This site just seems to be more responsive to its members and fishing education.
If you put a suggestion on this site, usually several TFF's will acommadate your request.

I normally run mine about 110 feet.
More than that I'm afraid I might miss something.
Once I find something, sometimes I cut down the range to say 50 feet and drive closer to that object to see it better on the SI. Or say 50 feet right or left only and then see it better/bigger.
I haven't been taking pictures (sorry). Proably never will.
I suggested the other SI site because they have so many pictures already, for you get some some ideas from.
