What's the word on the white bass run in San Gabriel?

Came home today with 9 whites and 3 crappie. Not sure how many small ones I threw back. Haven't cleaned them yet so not sure how many were male or female. I was using swim "n" minnows but there were some people catching on live minnows also.

Awesome, were you at the bottom of the stairs or closer to the lake?

I fished the steps for a couple hours on Sunday morning any only landed 2 small males and 4 crappie on my flyrod. I didn't notice anyone doing any better.

Can one of you guys PM with directions to get the "stairs"? I am new to the Georgetown area and looking for close places to fish.

I usually walk about 10 minutes towards the lake past the stairs (taking a left) and wade around the gravel bar and usually do pretty well with a green or white rooster tail.

Agfisher - PM sent.
The narrows at the steps were producing on Monday - much bigger fish than I'm used to at Granger, and MOSTLY egg-bearing females. It's going to be an interesting year...

There's already crowds out there. Time to hike in or take the yak from Box 7.

Yes, off of CR 347. I think that's what it's called, anyway.
